The Ukrainian President Zelensky says Russia does not occupy the embattled city of Bakmut.  It comes after conflicting reports of who is now in
control of the eastern city.

Russian President Putin had earlier congratulated the Wagner mercenary group for capturing the city.

U.S President Joe Biden says the United States is doing all it can to strengthen
Ukraine's defenses for its war with Russia.  It comes as the U.S announces a 
new package of military aid for Ukraine.

Polls have closed in Greece's parliamentary election according to the
exit polls. The incumbent Prime Minister  Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his center right New Democracy Party are ahead of the main rival  the leftist Syriza Party.  It's unlikely either party will earn a majority.
