Australia floods:

Days of torrential downpours have caused rivers and dams to overflow around Sydney - the state capital - and in south-east Queensland.

No deaths were reported, but thousands of people have been rescued by emergency services in recent days. About 18,000 people have been evacuated with authorities expecting about 15,000 others to join them.

The BOM’s（ the Bureau of Meteorology ）Victoria Dodd said the state had experienced "the most significant floods … in decades".
