「ピアノ・マン」は、ビリー・ジョエルの経験をもとに作曲され、1973年にリリースされました。曲中の人物は全てビリーの出会った実在の人物だそうです。

歌の中で老人、ジョン（バーテンダー）、ポール（小説家気取りの不動産屋）、デイビー（海軍で働いている）、ウェイトレスなどが登場します。

今回の動画はビリー・ジョエルが2008年に来日した際の東京ドームでのライブです。5万人を超える客達がでいっぱいだったそうです。

本曲の出だしに奏でられる「上を向いて歩こう」がまた素晴らしいですね😊
