Sugawara Satsuki, Inoue Nagi, Ichinose Miku CanCam Sept 2022 Issue Interview

— I heard that this is the first time for the three of you to shoot together. How was it?
Satsuki: It was a fresh feeling for me because they were so different from what they usually look like. I kept saying, "You (guys) are so cute~" (laugh).

Miku: These two can make a smile and have a mature look, so I learned a lot from them. Meanwhile I can’t do mature expressions at all….

Satsuki: Eh~! I, on the contrary, am not good at smiling. There was a time when I practiced smiling by taking selfies with Nagi, right?

Nagi: Yup. She laughed at me because that smile was too awkward (laughs).

— What is the atmosphere like when the 11 5ki are off (not on camera i think?)
Satsuki: It’s like being in a classroom. If there’s a chance you can hear someone's voice or laughter (laughs).

Nagi: I think it’s more than twice as loud as the fans think it is. Not so noisy, but more like rambunctious...? Our conversations are so thin that even we don't remember what we are talking about (laughs). Even in our private lives, we are together all the time.

Satsuki: I sometimes find out through relay blogs that this girl and that girl were playing together!

Miku: Everyone gets along with everyone, so they may always be playing with different members. When asked the question, "Who do you get along with best among the 5th graders?” I’m in trouble (laugh).

— Tell us about your first impressions of each other!
Satsuki: I didn't have a chance to talk to Nagi. I had a strong impression of her as a beautiful girl! Now I think she's a bit out of the ordinary. Personally, I think Nagi is the one who has changed the most since my first impression?

Nagi: I have always thought of Sacchan as mature, and when I heard that she was one year younger than me, I thought it was a mistake (laugh). I thought Mikku was very bright and funny, so I contacted her myself! I’m not good at talking to people and have had a hard time getting to know them, so I thought Mikku, who talked to everyone so openly, would be okay.

Miku: I saw Nagi for the first time at the acceptance announcement, and I couldn't help but look at her twice (laugh). I couldn't believe how cute she was! (laugh). I was surprised to hear that she was younger than me! Sacchan seemed quiet and calm. She didn't talk much at first, but when she opened up to me, she showed me everything. After she started to show me her true self, I think she was the loudest (laugh).

Satsuki: Oh noo~(laugh). Miku was talking with about four other people while waiting for the audition, and I was thinking that I wanted to be a part of it (laugh). I got the impression that she was a cheerful girl.

— Nogizaka46 celebrated its 10th anniversary last August. Have your feelings changed since you joined the group?
Satsuki: The pressure was tremendous. I think we have to do something to match the efforts our seniors have made to make the group bigger.

Nagi: When I received my Nogizaka jersey, I realized anew that I had joined the group. It was something I had seen even when I was a fan, so I knew once again that I had become a member of Nogizaka46.

Miku: I thought of this when I saw the emblem on the uniform I received for 5ki. Also, when the seniors called out to me backstage at the omitatekai and told me to "keep up the good work" and "I'm watching you.” I thought, "I am now a member of Nogizaka46!”

— Please tell us your future goals!
Miku: After about half a year since we joined, I think each of us in 5ki has established our own position in the group, so I hope we will all work together to do our best. The tour is about to start!

Satsuki: The "Midsummer National Tour 2022" is the first tour in which we 5th gen will participate in earnest so, I hope to show them that we have matured so much that we can proudly say, "We are also a part of Nogizaka46!”

Nagi: I feel that we are getting stronger and stronger together. I hope that by the end of the tour, we will be able to praise ourselves as well as our fans.
