Sugawara Satsuki UTB Aug 2022 Issue Interview

It's a dream come true for us to have a former reader of our magazine make her debut as a member of Nogizaka.
Thank you, I was surprised when I first heard about it (lol). My parents' house is full of back issues of the magazine, and my room wall is covered with posters of special editions, so much that my mother said, "Why don't you put them up more carefully?"

I think those who read this interview had a very close feeling to Satsuki-chan (laughs). Wasn't the "preparation for gravure photoshoots" perfect just by looking closely?
I found it very difficult to decide how to move and what facial expressions to use. But the camera man-san was able to get a lot of different moods in the shots, so I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

As you can see, it turned out very nice. Before your debut, Satsuki-chan was a fan of Nogizaka who checked out "UTB" What made you fall in love with Nogizaka?
I first heard about Nogizaka when 3ki joined the group. When I first saw Ozono Momoko-san, I thought excitingly "I didn't know there could be a person who's really cute like this." From there, I checked out the profile of 3ki, and thought, "They are all so cute! I've never seen a group like this!" Momoko-san was everything I wanted to be in a girl, and I followed her appearances on TV and in magazines. I started paying attention to 1ki and got to know Hashimoto Nanami-san, who in my mind was the symbol of a "cool adult woman." When I heard that Nogizaka was looking for a new member, I applied without consulting with anyone.

Your family and friends must have been surprised.
When I passed the initial screening, I received a letter in the mail, and that's when my mother found out about it (laughs). At that time, I said about three times, "I think I was rejected anyway," and miraculously, I was not rejected and here I am. I still can't believe it.

Now that the Birthday Live is over and you're gradually getting used to working with your seniors, please tell us about the seniors you have become friends with.
At that time, I told Higuchi Hina-san, "Higuchi-san's face is really my type" and she was very happy about it. All of my seniors are kind and nice, but the kindest is Tamura (Mayu)-san. On days when we have to work as a group, the first thing I do is to look for her and hug her, saying, "Mayu-san, Mayu-san!" After that, I also follow her when she's doing her makeup and whisper to her, "You look so cute!" I'm an only child and always wanted an older sister, so she's my ideal older sister.

Thank you for the cute episode (laughs). By the way, who is the member that you get along with in 5ki?
It's Nagi. Although she's one year older than me, we have no barriers and can talk about anything. We laugh together when things are fun, cry together when things are tough, and give each other the strength to get over difficulties.

Please tell us about an episode of Nagi-chan that only Satsuki knows.
The other day, when Nagi came to my house, we watched "Detective Conan" together…. but the silhouette of the criminal appears first. Nagi seems to be not good at that, and while saying "I'm scared! I can't do it!", she grabbed my arm and wouldn't let it go. She would never do something like that, so it made me kyun (lol).

I had no idea that Nagi-chan, who usually gives the impression of being cool and smart in everything she does, has such an azatoi side. Finally, do you have a message for our readers from Satsuki-chan for the future?
Those of you who have been paying attention to me know that I'm not very good at playing the cat and pretending to be calm, but I'm the type of person who easily shows my emotions, so I would like to try everything in a natural way. I would like to do my best in gravure work, which I used to like and see a lot. My secret dream is to be photographed on the beach in summer wearing a white one-piece dress. I would be very happy if you could support me. Thank you very much!
