[Sofuken Clay Modeling compilation 2] Draw a rough sketch and draw a three-view drawing! Using three-view drawing, you can gradually get an idea of what the 3-dimensional object will look like. Basic SOFUBI modeling.

Sofuken! Clay Modeling compilation vol.2

In this second edition of SOFUBI Clay Modeling, I'm going to draw a rough sketch and draw a three-view drawing! That's what we'll be doing! Although it's called "clay modeling"... I haven't been able to get to the clay yet. Basics are important. Creating an initial image is important. With that said, I'd like to draw a 3-view drawing of the character I want to make into a 3-dimensional object to solidify my image! Then, based on the drawing, I'll make a core out of aluminum foil!

*Previously on... Clay Modeling compilation vol.1!

First, draw a rough sketch, and then draw 3 sides: front, side and back.

As a point to draw a 3-view drawing is to match the size and height of the drawing.

By drawing this front, side, and back, you can more easily visualize the image as a 3-dimensional object in your mind before you start clay modeling.

A rough sketch is only a picture in one direction, so it remains 2-dimensional, and if you want to make it 3-dimensional, it is easy to get misaligned. (I haven't drew the back drawing yet) So, draw 3-view drawing is easy to embody the image.

Roughly drawn images are solidified in a form closer to a 3-dimensional object! It's like that.

It is also important to draw the 3-viewed drawing in the same size as it will be
when it is completed as a 3-dimensional object. It will be closer to the finished
product and it will be easier to get an image.

Now let's try to draw the actual three-viewed drawing.

Putting aside your sense of drawing for a moment, your brain gradually switches from a plane to 3-dimensional.

And from here, we'll make the "core" out of aluminum foil!

You can use general aluminum foil that is sold everywhere.

Since it uses an unexpected amount of foil, so take it out boldly and roll it up.

画像5

I will make it by rolling and adjusting the size according to the 3-viewed drawing I have made.

Make it by pushing it tightly so that air does not remain inside.

The core making is completed like this.

So, next time, I'd like to fill the core with Sculpey clay. I'm going to coat it
with clay!

I also talk about it in detail on YouTube.
