[Sofuken Clay Modeling Compilation 1] Mr. Kimura Hideki from "Kimura Toy", who also runs a modeling class, taught me clay modeling from the beginning! The first part of the modeling is about tools and prices.

Sofuken! Clay modeling compilation vol.1!

Let's try it! SOFUBI clay modeling! First, I'd like to start by looking at what
tools to get and how much they cost, as to what we should start with.

The person who will be helping us this time is Mr. Kimura of "Kimura Toy", who actually runs a modeling class and makes original and copyrighted SOFUBI himself, and he will be our teacher and will teach us a lot of things!

I've always been interested in modeling!

The reason why I started this project was because I was interested in modeling, but I couldn't find anything that was quite convincing to what kind of tools I needed, what to get, and how to start making it?

How to make a figure! There are things like that, but I didn't come across any
sculpting specific to SOFUBI, so i thought I'd make my own, and maybe some of you have the same problem. That's why I started this project!

So, this time, it's the absolute basics!

1. What kind of tools should I prepare?
2. How much will it cost to get them together?
3. Where do I start?

And I'd like to start with these 3 to give me a foundation to begin with!

1. What kind of tools should I prepare?

-Sketchbook

-Clay (Sculpey)

-Temperature-controlled oven

-Stone Powder Clay (this is for those without an oven)

-Clay spatula

-Tone spatula

-File

-Box cutter

-Cutter mat (clay plate)

-Design knife

-Aluminum foil

It reminds me of the clay I used to play with when I was in kindergarten. I guess I haven't messed with clay since then.

2. How much will it cost to get them together?

You can get it for the total amount, less than 10,000 yen and you can start. And it's convenient and easy to buy everything on Amazon.

3. Where do I start?

- Draw rough on the sketchbook
- Draw a three-sided view
- Roll up a piece of aluminum foil to make a core
- Serve up the Sculpey
- Let it harden in the oven!

After drawing a rough sketch, there's still a long way to go...

I have only drawn rough sketches yet, but from here on,

first is to have a rough sketch of what you want to make.
Once you have decided on what you want to make, draw a three-view drawing of the actual size.
Next, roll the aluminum foil according to the three-views, make a core and add Sculpey to it.
When the shape is roughly formed, bake it in the oven to harden it.

The first series is about to end at this point.

It's a long way from here...

Clay modeling is difficult, but I would like to do my best to make it.

I also talk about it in detail on YouTube from [Part 1] of the "Sofuken Modeling Compilation".
