リベラリズムは、国家間の経済的相互依存性が高まることで、戦争のコストが増大し、平和的解決を志向するインセンティブが強化されると主張する。経済的相互依存性は、貿易、投資、技術交流などにより国家間の連携を深める。国際機関や多国間協定は、相互依存関係を管理し、信頼を築く枠組みとなる。デジタル経済の台頭などにより、国家間の連携はさらに深まり、リベラリズム理論の予測が現実を反映する可能性が高い[5]。
さらに、リベラリズムは民主平和論を提唱する。民主国家は、他の民主国家との間には平和を保つ傾向があるとされる。民主化の波は今後も世界的に広がり、国際関係における協調と平和の可能性を高める[13]。

技術革新は、国際関係において変革をもたらす。人工知能、ビッグデータ、遠隔医療などの進歩は、国際協力の新たな分野を生み出し、共通の利益のために協力するインセンティブを強化する[1][4][20]。

リベラリズムは、経済的相互依存性、民主主義、多国間協力、技術進歩といった要因を考慮に入れた理論的枠組みを提供する。これにより、国家間の平和的関係を促進し、将来の国際関係の展開を予測するのに最も適している。リベラリズムは、国際関係の安定性と繁栄を促進するための多様なアプローチを提供し、今後30年にわたって、より協調的で持続可能な国際秩序の構築を見込むことができる。
