Special Interview with Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General, Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt

We at the World Scan Project (WSP) have contributed to archaeological research by conducting many surveys in Egypt using 3D scanning technology and providing valuable data. The data is now being utilized for the enjoyment of the general public.

We continue to develop metaverse and VR services that provide detailed 3D data so that visitors can access and experience Egyptian sites anywhere in the world. In this way, people of the world who are interested in ancient Egypt will be able to visit ancient Egypt from the comfort of their own homes and have a wonderful virtual experience as if they were there.

For example, they can experience the following worlds from the comfort of their homes.

These activities of ours have been highly appreciated by the Egyptian government. And now, Dr. Mostafa Waziry, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt, has agreed to give us a special interview about the current state of archaeological research and W.S.P.'s activities.

On the current and recent activities of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology

We have a wide range of activities throughout Egypt and have conducted numerous excavations. These activities are not limited to the Pyramid District and Saqqara but also cover Middle, Upper, and Lower Egypt.
Recent excavations have resulted in discoveries that have impressed the world.

This is the result of our vigorous excavation work and new discoveries. In fact, there are more than 250 international excavation teams working in Egypt, and in the past five years, valuable discoveries have been made in many areas of Egypt.

For example, there are many valuable artifacts, including statues of Ramses II, Amenhotep II, and Thutmose III. They existed in a damaged state for about 8,000 years and have been restored to their ancient state by our conservation team. To see these statues in their original locations, restored to their former glory, is truly an amazing accomplishment.

In addition, I would like to mention the famous temples of Karnak, Dendera, and Abydos. For many years, these temples were covered with soot and mud, obscuring their true colors. However, thanks to the soot removal and cleaning work on the walls that began 18 months ago, the ancient colors can now be seen again. These achievements are part of the work of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology, of which we are very proud.

About WSP's VR project

This is what I particularly like about this project. I would like to express my sincere thanks to WSP. I am deeply grateful to them for their decision to produce Virtual Reality (VR). This is a wonderful initiative and exactly what Egypt is striving for.

Our hope is to encourage tourists to come back to Egypt. Through this VR, tourists can experience Egypt from the comfort of their own homes and be safe at the same time. This is especially important now with the coronavirus problem. It is a great way for tourists to experience Egypt through VR. The experience through virtual reality is truly amazing.

WSP to investigate the Great Pyramid "Weight Diffusion Room"

The five rooms above King Khufu's chamber were intended to relieve pressure, but these have actually not been open to the public since 2015. And now it is 2022, seven years later. (You will be the first people to experience this virtual reality (through WSP's VR). This will be a very special experience for all of you.

I especially hope that the tourist response to this virtual reality will be great in Japan and send a message to the Japanese people. We want Japanese tourists to come back to Egypt, enjoy the heat, enjoy the sun, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. The Japanese are the most welcome guests in Egypt. We would like to welcome you whenever you decide to visit Egypt.

You can watch this entire interview in detail in this video. It was filmed at the Great Pyramid, and the interviewer is Dr. Kawae Kosho, an Egyptian archaeologist at Nagoya University. We would like to thank both Dr. Kawae and Dr.Waziry for their cooperation.

Our developing service is a groundbreaking and ambitious project that will provide metaverse and VR access to ancient Egypt and other world heritage sites around the world.

The WSP will continue to investigate and preserve archaeological sites around the world and will continue its activities to connect the treasures of humanity to the future and "make the world, the future, and curiosity accessible".

If you are interested in this activity, please follow and support the WSP.
