What made you give up the long beard?

I tried on a 2 days neck stubble, which is my unit of measure for razor's quality. It worked good and deep with an Astra Chrome, surprisingly no nicks, I think Yaqi Katana isn't so aggressive or "bloodthirsty" as I thought. As I already said, it's very light in weight but if you find the perfect angle, hint by its inclination, it goes well and slides on skin. 100% recommended.

I just started wet shaving a little over a week ago and bin loving it after having a long beard for over 10 yrs. I’ve been wet shaving my face and head, here is my current set up I’m using. I want the best trimmer for long beards just not sure what to get any help on brushes and other products I should try to thank you in advance

Good choice with the Variant. Great trimmer, you shouldn’t need another razor. I have a bunch of Yaqi brushes, they’re very good. They have a 24mm barber pole one. The knot looks slightly too small but it isn’t. It’s great to use and surprisingly holds enough for 3 passes (face only). Lovely brush. They also have red marbled 26 and 28 mm ones that are truly excellent. A starter kit from PAA is a nice way to get a brush, razor, blades, shaving cream, and aftershave for about $50.

As long as you clean the beard trimmer with the supplied brush and oil the blades every few uses it will stay sharp and last you a very long time. I've had my trimmer for about 3 months. 

I use it a couple of times a week for a couple of minutes. I have not had to recharge it since the initial charge I gave it when I bought this.
