“TSUKUBA LIVE!” is the place to experience "creating and fostering" the spirit of sports.
Hello! My name is Akiho Hyodo, and I am the PR leader for the University of Tsukuba's home game "TSUKUBA LIVE!” I am a first-year student in the Master's Program in Physical Education at the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences of the University of Tsukuba; I have been part of the TL Creators since the very first "TSUKUBA LIVE!” event. From my perspective as a student, I'd like to provide you with an overview of the upcoming home game scheduled for November 23.
The path to achieving a “sold-out” ticket
Many students are working in various sectors, including "venue," "audience management," "production," "creative/visual design," and "public relations" in the operations of "TSUKUBA LIVE!” Speaking of recent events, ticket sales began on November 2nd and were a remarkable success, with the expected number of tickets sold out in just 23 minutes (accessibility seatings (visitors with wheelchairs) are still available for purchase). In preparation for this day, the PR team, of which I am in charge, has been making announcements on social media as well as on campus every day. In addition, The Creative Team has been creating various videos/images/visual designs for eye-catching posts, the Venue and Attraction Management Team has set up the number of seats and launched the ticket sales website, and the TL Creators overall have been working nonstop in various areas. By collaborating with the University of Tsukuba AD (Athletics Department) and having each student from the TL Creators Team demonstrate his or her skills in their area of expertise, "TSUKUBA LIVE!" is always able to showcase a new way of making home games that no other university has been able to do.
Toward the day of the event
As the tickets were sold out immediately, the planning and production for the day will be accelerated from here. We hope to create the most exciting home games so that everyone who comes to the venue will be fascinated by Tsukuba Sports through "TSUKUBA LIVE!” If "TSUKUBA LIVE!" can become a home game event that takes root in the University of Tsukuba and Tsukuba City, and become something that students and citizens of Tsukuba look forward to, I believe that the university sports will become a meaningful event that enriches many people's lives.
"Creating and fostering" the spirit of sports
Since I remain active competing in sports, I have experienced the greatness and the joy of "doing" sports many times. Most of us have at least once engaged in "playing" or "watching" sports. Nevertheless, we believe that relatively fewer people have had the experience of "creating and fostering" the spirit of sports. There are various ways to participate in sports, even if we only use the phrase "create and foster.” Through "TSUKUBA LIVE!" I have seen numerous times how sports can have more influence than ever before by combining multiple aspects and utilizing their individual strengths, such as creativity, venue design, human resource management, and staging. On the day of the game, we sincerely hope that the visitors take notice of the students who developed and supported "TSUKUBA LIVE!" and enjoy a home game like never before!
