Traditional Crafts x NFT - We Begin!!

Hello everyone.
This is the TRADITIONAL CRAFTS NFT management team.

This is our first post.

We started this project as a group of people who have the idea of "Expanding Japanese traditional crafts to the world through NFT! "

Our members include engineers, marketers, managers, creators, and many others.

In note, we will explain the significance of our activities and what we plan to do in the future. We will post links to our Twitter and Discord pages, so if you are interested in joining us, please feel free to contact us!

What is NFT?

NFT stands for "Non-Fungible-Token"
It is a technology that allows the issuer/owner of digital content to be recorded on the blockchain to prove they are the rightful owner of the original data.

Various uses are being explored, including the ability to sell a single item of digital art and exchange it for virtual currency, and the creation of communities where only those who own a particular piece of digital art are allowed to enter.

The key point is that it can be used not only to buy and sell digital content, but also as a certificate to receive community participation tickets and benefits.

Traditional Japanese Crafts in Decline

Each of the wonderful works of art is a unique work of art that is the result of the thoughts of traditional craftspeople.

Unfortunately, they are on a path of decline due to lack of profits and lack of new comers to the tradition. If nothing is done, there is no denying the possibility that traditional crafts will disappear from Japan.

What is Traditional Craft x NFT?

Through NFT, we are promoting Japanese traditional crafts to the world.

In recent years, art and music are being bought and sold through a new technology called NFT, and the number of products and buyers is rapidly increasing.

By utilizing NFT, we hope to create a place where people not only in Japan but also around the world can pick up traditional crafts.

We will also communicate the thoughts of the traditional craftspeople who put into their works.

Why do we do it?

In the course of actually interviewing craftspeople, we witnessed the moment when traditional crafts handed down from generation to generation ceased to exist, as stores closed due to lack of successors.

In addition, some of our project members have family members who make traditional crafts for a living. When we talked to them, they told us that traditional crafts everywhere are in a similar state.

There must be many wonderful traditional crafts in Japan.
We want to preserve these wonderful works and spread them to the world. This is why we launched this project.

Future Activities

・The first issue! 12 NFTs will be issued on July 18 (Monday).
・We are planning to grant "the right to request a craftsman to create a piece of artwork" when you purchase NFTs(*).
*Details will be announced at the time of release.
・Preparing a DAO for traditional crafts.

・A second series is being planned.
・We are planning to operate a DAO to plan and promote measures to preserve traditional crafts using the money raised by NFT.
