試験勉強の寄り道 ブラタモリの本を読む
先だって、NHKのレギュラー番組、ブラタモリが残念ながら終了してしまいました…タモリさん、お疲れさまでした。
ブラタモリ本との出会い
ブラタモリは全国通訳案内士を目指し始める前から楽しんで見ていた番組。そして、地理が苦手な私には学習材料としても大変助かる番組でもありました。
そして知ったのですが、なんとこの番組はシリーズで本が出版されているというのです！
まずは1冊目から読んでみることにしました。
発行時期は少し古いですが、ブラタモリがいかに長寿番組だったかわかるというもの。
観光ガイド本という面もありますが、読み物としても楽しめる内容。暗記が苦手な私には勉強の良いサポートツールになりそうです。
今後はブラタモリ本を読んで気になった観光地をピックアップしてまとめたりもしてみたいと思いました。少しは記憶の定着率が上がりますように。
ブラブラ歩く…は英語で何？
色々な表現があると思い、ふと気になってwalkのthesaurusを調べてみました。
独断で、ブラタモリの雰囲気には当てはまるのはこの単語かなと。

理解を深めるために、ChatGPTに例文作ってもらいました。

あれ？動詞よりも名詞としてtake a stroll / go for a strollで使われるんですかね。
ブラタモリは番組なので当然目的地もルートもありますが、そこはあまり関係なさそう。
という流れで、一応、take a walk との違いも聞いてみました。
Stroll: This implies a leisurely or relaxed walk, often enjoyed for the sake of the activity itself or for taking in one's surroundings. It suggests a slower pace and a casual attitude.

なるほど。
strollはいざと言う時（全国通訳案内士の試験では）take a walkと言ってしまっても平気そうかな？ニュアンスを活かす機会に使いたいと思います。
街歩きの旅が好き
余談ですが、NHKの番組では「世界ふれあい街歩き」も好きです。時間に余裕がなく最近はあまり見られていませんが。
ブラタモリでもそうでしたが、こういう番組を見ると自分でもその場所に行ってみたくなります。自分は街歩きの旅が好き（もちろんそれ以外の旅も）なんだなと改めて思ったりもしました。
うっかり地理の勉強で嫌いになってしまわないよう、工夫して楽しみながら学んでいきたいです。
