MOTHER - Superwoman

My mother is the most fascinating person I have ever met. She is unique, dexterous and energetic.

She was born in Kobe and raised in Osaka. She moved to Tokyo when she enrolled in an art university. She studied Textile Design. After graduation, she went back to Osaka and started working at a textile company. She designed textile products for hotels. In general, textile designers in 2020 create patterns and designs using computers. However, she drew each design by hand instead of using the latest technology of 2020. Years later, she had wanted to design the whole building. Therefore, she went to school after work to be an architect. My mother and father met in the same school (and fell in love?). After she passed the exam, she formally became a residential architect. She worked so hard meanwhile she cleaned the house and cooked yummy meals for us simultaneously(with NO help from my father:/). She is a perfectionist. Can you imagine that? I think she is a superwoman. Even though she retired after she designed our house, she enjoys her life. When she resigned from her job, she said ‘I am exhausted!!’

She had complained about living in Yokohama as she really missed her hometown for years. My father is also from Kansai area though, he works at a company which is situated in Kamakura. It can not help. Nowadays she seems to be currently enjoying to reside in Kanto area. She is passionate about ‘Kamakura-bori’ (Kamakura carving). Moreover, she volunteers and helps old people lately. I am pleased that she accepts my hometown. I feel relieved.

She inspires me all the time. If I were not born with her, I would probably not choose the field. She is my best friend. Furthermore, I bet my mother's food is terrific.

I wonder when I could go back to Japan :) I miss her, food and our home.
