Ukraine Situation
It has been 721 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First some general things.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian military losses are
950 soldiers
9 tanks
47 armored fighting vehicles
54 guns
33 drones
1 ship
30 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 71 ground battles in one day.
Russian losses are close to 1,000 and equipment losses have been increasing over the past few days,
so it is possible that ammunition is beginning to arrive for the Ukrainian forces.
And the ratio of the number of equipment losses of the Ukrainian army to the Russian army,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 1.7,
which is 1.7 times the number of losses on the Russian side compared to the Ukrainian side.
The Russian losses were mostly infantry fighting vehicles,
military trucks and civilian vans,
while the Ukrainian losses were military trucks and artillery.
Here is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to see where you need to go.
1.
As we reported in yesterday's video in English,
a large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet,
the Sezaknikov,
was attacked by a Ukrainian military water drone south of Crimea and the ship sank.
The video shows the scene from the water drone,
which confirms that there was no attack on the water drone and that it was a sudden attack on the landing ship.
The crew then resisted with small arms fire,
but to no avail.
The attack was apparently carried out by five Seabees,
and although a rescue operation was conducted the next morning,
it is highly likely that 87 of the crew went down with the ship.
The sunken landing craft is a 112.5-meter-long Russian main landing craft that has been in service since 1986 and was damaged once in March last year at Berzhansk.
This is the first time a water drone has attacked and sunk a large landing craft.
According to Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate,
"it is symbolic that the Russian officer for whom the ship was named was killed in action on this day exactly 81 years ago."
Second.
Russia's IT infrastructure may be reaching the end of its useful life one by one.
The Moscow Stock Exchange,
which determines the Russian exchange rate,
stock prices and government bond prices,
has suspended trading for the past two days.
The cause was a failure of the main server,
which continued to fail even after it was restored.
In fact,
this is just one example of how Western sanctions have delayed the maintenance and replacement of computer equipment in Russia,
causing hard drives,
tape drives,
motherboards,
and other equipment to fail one after another as they reach the end of their useful lives.
Last year,
the number of repair requests for foreign computer equipment increased fivefold,
with 80% of these requests concentrated in the second half of the year," Sizov,
who handles computer equipment repairs,
told Kommersant.
While Western software is often used in Russia to process critical corporate data,
sanctions have cut off manufacturers' maintenance,
making spare parts much more time-consuming and expensive to obtain,
and in some cases impossible to repair.
Third.
Republican senators are increasing pressure on House Speaker Johnson to vote on a security assistance bill that includes support for Ukraine.
According to The Hill,
Republican Senator Tillis said that "we face political defeat in this year's elections if we do not allow President Putin to turn the tide of the war," while fellow Republican Majority Leader McConnell warned that "we will be judged by future historians if we let the bill stand and embolden hostile forces.
The bill is a good idea,
but it is not a good idea.
Now then,
here is the war situation in each region.
Here are some of the changes in the war situation.
Northeastern Luhansk region
Eastern Bakhmut
We will report on the situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the Siversk area to Bakhmut.
In this area the Russians fought a number of small battles in the Shinkivka sector,
two attacks in Terny,
and 10 attacks in the Bakhmut sector.
Svatove-Kreminna Line
According to several sources,
the battle map east of Terny has been updated from disputed territory to Russian-occupied territory as a result of Russian attacks earlier this month,
which were repelled at the front lines but were able to capture the forest behind them.
The area will be about 3.5 square kilometers.
There is no other information affecting the battle map in this area,
and the Russians appear to be concentrating their forces in Avdiivka.
Southeastern Donetsk Oblast
The weather in Avdiivka is overcast.
The minimum temperature is 0‹C and the maximum is 12‹C.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy.
Here is an update on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka area.
The Russians have carried out 24 attacks in this area.
There is a lot of information about the situation in Avdiivka,
including reports that Avdiivka is surrounded and that the Russians have cut both supply lines.
In fact,
the mayor of Barabash in Avdiivka reported that "there is no way for the 926 civilians to evacuate.
Meanwhile,
Ukrainian military spokesman Lukhovy stated that the Ukrainian military has several supply routes into Avdiivka.
Russian military bloggers also claim to control 17.5% of Avdiivka,
while the Institute of War Studies analyzes that they occupy at least 15.4%.
In addition,
the Russians have carried out 73 airstrikes in the area,
and more than 30 glide bomb attacks in Avdiivka alone.
The picture shown is from the Russian side,
where you can see the residential area with the command center in the foreground and the coal factory in the background.
And while there is a possibility that the retreat route has been lost,
the Ukrainian army has so far shown no signs of retreat,
so the possibility of a thorough fight inside the fortress is growing.
1.
On the industrial road,
which serves as Avdiivka's main supply line,
some intelligence reports indicate that Russian troops are advancing across the industrial road to the fields to the west.
However,
location-based video footage shows Russian forces conducting airstrikes on the east side of the industrial road,
suggesting that the fighting is taking place on the east side of the industrial road.
In addition,
the Russian video footage we have just seen shows no sign of movement on the west side of the industrial road,
There is no change in the battle map,
and we will update you if there is a change.
Second.
According to the video footage and multiple intelligence reports,
the Ukrainian military has launched a flanking attack on the Tsarskaokhota restaurant south of Avdiivka and is conducting a recapture operation.
First,
over the past few days,
Ukrainian forces have been using drones to attack the road leading from the restaurant to the residential area in order to reduce the strength of the Russian army.
The drone attack shown here was carried out by the 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian army then deployed infantry units and began an operation to retake the restaurant,
but the Russian army counterattacked and the operation failed,
according to information.
Here is a view of the location shown on the map to the east of the restaurant,
which is a tactical assessment of the Russian side.
3.
In the residential area leading from the restaurant,
a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle was destroyed at the location shown on the map,
according to the local video,
which indicates that this location is not under the control of the Ukrainian forces.
The battle front is now expanding,
with Russian forces occupying more of the area,
turning north from the tip of the residential area and across Sobolna Street,
where Ukrainian forces are attempting to block the advance of Russian troops.
4.
According to multiple sources,
Russian forces appear to be advancing east of Opitne.
Russian forces have attacked the area indicated on the map,
and some sources report that they have occupied this area.
We have updated the battle map of this area from Ukrainian-controlled to disputed.
We will update the battle map again as soon as we have confirmation,
but if that happens,
the situation becomes more urgent and worrying,
because the Ukrainian army will be left behind at the site of a factory south of Avdiivka,
with the possibility that Avdiivka itself will be besieged.
Drawing a small map,
it is likely that the Russians are trying to advance from the north and south of their headquarters in Avdiivka,
and with it a single supply line,
which is also under Russian bombardment,
in addition to being exposed to Russian fire,
The situation has become increasingly tense,
with localized areas under siege.
It has been pointed out that it is already too late to withdraw from the area,
and it seems more likely that a decision not to withdraw at this stage will not be made in the future.
Otherwise,
around Krasnohorivka,
on the attack axes of Severne,
Pervomaiske,
and Neveleske,
the Russian attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian forces,
and the battle map remained unchanged.
The Marinka Sector
In this sector the Russians launched 27 attacks.
1.
In Marinka,
the Russians are advancing slowly and lightly,
while the Ukrainians are cutting their forces with the help of drones.
According to the found video,
the Russian forces attacked and advanced on the southern outskirts of Marinka,
in the place shown on the map.
What we are showing you is from the Ukrainian side,
which is the Russian military position shown on the battle map.
The battle map has been updated to show Russian forces occupying this location from disputed territory.
Meanwhile,
in Novomihailivka,
where an urban battle is taking place,
there is no information today and the battle map remains unchanged.
Zaporizhia Province,
Southern Russia
In this sector,
the Russian army launched a third stage attack in Robotyne,
but the Ukrainian army repulsed it,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
On the other hand,
there is a record of a Ukrainian Mi8 helicopter being shot down by a Russian mobile anti-aircraft missile in Robotyne.
Rear areas
In Kursk,
a drone attack by Ukrainian forces on an oil base.
There is only a short video,
but flames can be seen rising from the oil tanks.
Southern Kherson province.
The Russians launched five attacks in this sector,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
although there is no change in the battle map,
However,
we have information that Russian infantry entered the mapped area and were repelled by Ukrainian troops using a drone in panic.
The video is from the Ukrainian side,
where they observe the Russian troops hiding in the shadows in the ruins,
where there are no buildings or anything else shown on the battle map.
There are also unconfirmed reports that Ukrainian forces have retaken the museum,
and we will update the battle map as soon as we get confirmation of that.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
