Situation in Ukraine
It has been 838 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were 1100 soldiers
23 tanks
32 armored fighting vehicles
46 guns
1 multi-role rocket
5 air defense systems
1 aircraft
13 drones
79 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 73 ground battles in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 1.8 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
Losses on the Russian side are dominated by infantry fighting vehicles,
tanks,
and military trucks; conversely,
armored fighting vehicles,
civilian vans,
and tanks stand out on the Ukrainian side.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
We will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes with the date if you use the full screen view on the big screen.
Northeast: Harkiv and Sumy
This report provides an update on the situation in the Halkiu area,
where the Russian military invasion across the border took place on May 10.
The weather in Harkiv is cloudy.
Minimum temperature: 20 degrees Celsius,
Maximum temperature: 32 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather is also forecast to be cloudy.
Temperatures are rising and the weather is unstable with occasional showers.
Sumy area
Russian troops have crossed the border into Ukrainian territory in Sumy Oblast.
Russian troops invaded Ukrainian territory in the reverse direction from Tetkino,
where the Russian Volunteer Army and the gRussian Freedomh Corps once invaded Russian territory,
and raised a flag in the town of Lizivka to assert their occupation.
The attack appears to have been carried out by Chechen Ahmat troops,
who are seen here shelling the settlement and operating within it.
The Chechen unit is known as the TikTok unit,
and the video is well filmed and edited.
Meanwhile,
Ukrainian Army Northern Operations Command spokesman Myshynk described the Russian incursion as a small engineering and reconnaissance unit,
and President Zelensky accused Russia of conducting a propaganda operation in Lizivka.
The Institute for the Study of War updated its battle map of the disputed area,
taking into account that it also assessed that the attack was small and did not establish a lasting occupation.
Liptsi area
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Ukrainian troops reported counterattacks against Liptsi and Hlyboke in this sector,
but so far there is no information that would affect the battle map.
Vovtyansk
There is no information on this area that would affect the battle map,
either,
and there is a video on social media showing Ukrainian infantry observing the perimeter at the location shown on the map in the center of the city,
confirming that this area is under Ukrainian military control.
However,
one cannot let one's guard down,
and there is information that small Russian infantry have infiltrated the city,
operating in the forest shown on the map south of the Bohucha River,
and that Ukrainian troops have repelled them with cluster artillery shells.
Northeast: Toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
in the direction of ChasivYar
The following is an update on the war situation in the Kupyansk to ChasivYar area.
In this area,
the Russians attacked five times on the Svatove-Kreminna line,
three times around Sivelsk,
and nine times around ChasivYar.
ChasivYar Area
In this area,
the Russians are making very small advances,
with losses,
and are still trying to capture ChasivYar.
Ukrainian military spokesman Voloshin reported that Russian troops have not yet crossed the canal and that the Russian offensive has not led to any advance.
1st.
East of Kalinivka,
there has been an artillery fire followed by a ground battle,
which has turned into a back-and-forth offensive.
According to the positional video,
a Russian MTLB armored fighting vehicle was abandoned in the vicinity mapped east of Kalinivka,
and a Ukrainian Bradley infantry fighting vehicle was abandoned in a residential area to the south of it.
The battle map remains unchanged.
2nd.
In the Canal,
the positional video shows Russian troops raising flags and claiming occupation at the buildings indicated on the map,
with comments claiming that they have occupied the entire Canal.
The actual Russian occupation is limited to the eastern half of the canal,
with Ukrainian forces continuing to resist in the west,
and Ukrainian drones in the middle observing Russian troop movements and attacking when necessary.
There is no change in the battle map.
Third.
There was heavy fighting in Ivanivske,
and according to the location-based video and multiple intelligence reports,
Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from Ivanivske,
which is now occupied by Russian forces.
What you are seeing is from the Russian side,
and it is a Russian FPV drone video of the Russian army chasing the retreating Ukrainian army at the location indicated on the map.
Since this road had been a supply route for the Ukrainian army,
it seems that the war tilted to the Russian side after the Russian army put this area under fire control.
The battle map has been updated to show the area as occupied by the Russians from the disputed area. Ivanivske has also been changed to a red marker indicating occupied territory.
The area will be about 3 square kilometers.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast.
The following is an update on the war situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Velikanovosilka.
Avdiivka area.
In this sector,
Russian troops made more than 25 attacks in various directions,
of which Ukrainian troops repelled 18,
but the situation is still tense as fighting continues.
1st.
In Novo Oleksandrivka,
according to unconfirmed information,
the Russians attacked in the order of air strikes,
artillery fire,
and assaults,
as reported in yesterday's video,
and the assault soldiers may have penetrated the entire settlement,
expanding the area of the disputed territory to the entire settlement.
2nd.
On the axis of attack northwest of Umanske,
we reported in yesterday's video that Russian troops may have advanced across the river,
and the video with location data shows that a Ukrainian drone attacked the advancing Russian troops at the location indicated on the map,
and Russian soldiers can be seen attacking across the river. The image you are seeing is of the Ukrainian side of the river.
The image you are seeing is from the Ukrainian side and can be seen in the background of the number of Russian losses.
We have updated the battle map to show this area as partially occupied by Russian forces from the disputed territory.
Conversely,
Ukrainian forces have attacked the Ukrainian village of Umanske in the rear of the area with multiple rocket launchers to reduce Russian forces and stabilize the area.
Otherwise,
the battle map remains unchanged,
with Ukrainian forces repulsing numerous Russian offensives.
Marinka area
The Russians made eight attacks in this sector,
seven of which were repulsed by the Ukrainians,
and the rest were counterattacked by Ukrainian forces.
The counterattack was successful,
and the Ukrainians pushed the Russians back about a kilometer east of the town of Krasnohorivka and partially retook it.
1st.
The video footage of Krasnohorivka with location data shows that the Russians are engaged in a positional battle with Ukrainian troops on the eastern outskirts of the town,
at the location shown on the map,
and that this area is the front line of the Russian army.
The Russian side of the video shows Russian troops observing Ukrainian troops in trenches at the location shown on the map.
The Ukrainian forces have successfully advanced to this area,
so the battle map has been updated to show that the Ukrainian forces have recaptured a portion of the disputed and Russian-occupied land.
The area is about 1.4 square kilometers.
2nd.
Conversely,
Russian forces are slightly to the north on the west side of the city center,
with Ukrainian forces responding with a drone near a supermarket on Kirova Street.
What you are seeing is on the Ukrainian side and the location shown on the map.
The battle map has been updated to show the Russian advance to this location.
Velikanovosilka sector
In this sector,
the Russians attacked Urozhyn and Staromaiorsk,
both advancing.
1st.
At Urozhyn,
the Russians launched a rocket attack along the line of contact with at least 15 confirmed helicopters,
followed by a thorough flank suppression with 15 thermobaric bombs,
and then an infantry assault in a close position battle,
taking some positions.
What you are looking at is the Russian side,
as shown on the map.
The battle map has been updated to show the Russian forces occupying a portion of the disputed territory.
2nd.
In Stalomaiorsk,
Russian troops also claimed occupation by placing flags on buildings north of the mapped town.
Since there were no signs of resistance by Ukrainian forces,
the battle map was updated to show the settlement of Stalomaiorsk as occupied by Russian forces.
Stalomaiorsk was recaptured by Ukrainian forces in August of last year in a reversal offensive,
but was reoccupied by Russian forces in about 10 months.
Southern Province of Zaporizhia
South,
Province of Kherson
There is no change in the battle map,
although both sides continue to fight positions in this area,
with a total of four ground battles reported in both areas.
Other.
A U.S. Army officer,
speaking at a military symposium last week,
said that the downing of a Russian A50 airborne control plane in January of this year,
initially attributed to a Ukrainian S200 anti-aircraft missile,
was actually a Patriot missile,
and that it was an ambush by surface-to-air missile. He explained that it was actually a surprise attack by ambushing with surface-to-air missiles.
Colonel Clemente recalled that gthe Ukrainians used German-supplied Patriot systems,
deployed at night just off the front lines,
and waited for an opportunity to strike.
This is a brief report with selected news about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you need to.
1st.
The Ukrainian military reported simultaneous strikes against three Russian military targets in Crimea,
destroying one state-of-the-art Russian S400 air defense system in Zhankoye and two S300 air defense systems in Chernomorskoye and Evpatoria.
Crimean intelligence channels also reported two other S300s from the Russian 31st Air Defense Division in Gromovo,
south of Chernomoskoye,
and four missile attacks on the Saky Air Force base.
It is believed that ATACMS were used in the attack.
This is the first time that Ukrainian forces have attacked at least three to five military targets simultaneously,
meaning that several Russian air defense radars have been shut down at once and that the air defense system in Crimea is becoming increasingly weak and the Ukrainian military attacks are intensifying.
Furthermore,
according to Ates,
a partisan organization operating in Crimea,
the Russian air defense command in Crimea has reportedly issued orders to evacuate families of military personnel from Crimea.
This could also mean that Crimea's air defense is no longer functioning,
making it vulnerable to Ukrainian military attacks.
2nd.
As reported in yesterday's video,
Ukrainian forces attacked Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov on a daily basis,
and on the 9th they disabled at least one Russian landing ship that was transporting ammunition to Mariupol,
and as reported in yesterday's video,
Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian engineering ship g As reported in yesterday's video,
Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian engineering ship gEngineer Smirnovh and the barge gSection 179h.
The drone attack was successful,
and the engineering ship and barge were damaged at sea near Taganrog.
The video shows a large explosion followed by various objects falling from above.
This is the first time that the Ukrainian military has attacked a ship in the Sea of Azov,
and it is also unusual for an airborne drone to attack a navigable military vessel,
which means that the Ukrainian military's long-range strike capability has improved significantly,
Russian air defenses have weakened,
and as a result,
the Ukrainian military threat exists in the Sea of Azov This means that the Ukrainian military threat is also present in the Sea of Azov.
3rd.
According to Ukrainian military spokesman Predenchuk,
the Admiral Levchenko,
a large Russian anti-submarine patrol boat that was conducting military exercises in the Barents Sea,
has been disabled after a fire broke out in its power generation compartment.
As we reported in yesterday's video,
Russia is unable to make engines for aircraft carriers,
which is why Russia's only aircraft carrier is likely to be lost,
but this ship is also equipped with a large engine manufactured in Ukraine,
and Russia does not have the capacity to make large engines for ships,
and the Russian ship that caught fire in the engine compartment may be scrapped. The report stated that the vessel is likely to be scrapped.
That's all for today.
Please feel free to leave your analysis of the battle,
your thoughts on the news,
and any updates you may have in the comments section.
Thank you for watching.
