Situation in Ukraine
It has been 825 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First of all,
general matters.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 1,460 soldiers
21 tanks
40 armored fighting vehicles
48 guns
1 multi-role rocket
15 drones
50 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 95 ground battles in one day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.5 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
Losses on the Russian side are dominated by infantry fighting vehicles,
military trucks,
and civilian trucks; conversely,
communications facilities and radars stand out on the Ukrainian side.
Now,
here is the battle situation in each area.
We will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes along with the date if you have a full screen view on the big screen.
Northeast,
toward Harkiv
It has been 16 days since the Russians invaded along the border in Harkiv.
The weather in Harkiv is sunny.
Minimum temperature 10 degrees Celsius,
maximum temperature 25 degrees Celsius.
The weather forecast for today also calls for sunshine.
Russian troops have made 12 attacks in this direction.
Liptsi area
As we reported in yesterday's video,
the Ukrainian military is counterattacking in this area,
and according to the location-based video,
the Russian military is bombing the area shown on the map,
which may be a Ukrainian military base.
What you are seeing is the Russian side.
On the other hand,
Ukrainian troops destroyed a large number of vans in the forest to the northeast,
destroying seven vans and a turtle tank as far as we can count.
What we are showing you is a post-attack reconnaissance video of the Ukrainian side,
showing the area shown on the map.
You can see that the van,
which was parked along the forest for cover,
has been turned into a piggyback.
The Russian army is still attacking Liptsi,
and there is no change in the battle map for now,
but this may change with new information.
Bovtyansk area
According to Russian military bloggers,
heavy ground fighting is reportedly occurring in Staritsa and Bovtyansk.
1st.
East of Bovtyansk,
positional video footage shows Ukrainian troops conducting maneuvers in the vicinity of the mapped area,
confirming that this location is under Ukrainian military control.
From the looks of it,
it appears that this location is on high ground and the Russians are exposing themselves to attack and are unable to advance.
2nd.
The 82nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has also released a drone showing them attacking the Russian positions,
which confirms that this location is the front line for the Russian forces,
and the Russian occupied area on the battle map may have been reduced in scope a bit more,
but we will leave it as it is for now.
Third.
The Ukrainian military is also bombing the Central Hospital,
and this may be the GBU39 small diameter bomb we reported on in yesterday's video.
A viewer asked why the GBU39 has a 90% hit rate and the GLSDB,
which uses the same warhead,
has a poor hit rate?
According to Defense Express,
the GBU39 is dropped at low altitude over enemy-occupied buildings on the front lines,
and its range is estimated to be 20 to 30 kilometers,
so even if it were subject to GPS jamming by the Russians,
the error margin would not be large.
None of this has changed the battle map for now,
but from the video showing the location of the fires,
it appears that there are some places in the urban area where the Ukrainian forces appear to be pushing back the Russians by counterattacking with artillery fire.
Northeast,
toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
toward ChasivYar
The following is an update on the war situation in the area from Kupyansk to ChasivYar.
The Russians attacked 22 times in Kupyansk,
3 times on the Svatove-Kreminna line,
13 times at Bilohorivka,
and at least twice around ChasivYar.
Kupyansk Area
In this sector,
the Russian MoD claimed the occupation of Ivanivka,
which can be judged as the usual propaganda to demoralize the Ukrainian army.
A new advance of Russian troops was also confirmed near Novovojane,
southwest of Svatovye,
but Ukrainian troops are responding within the disputed territory.
The number of Russian attacks in this area has increased,
but so far there is no change in the battle map.
ChasivYar
In this sector,
Russian forces continue their offensive to capture ChasivYar and there is a ground battle in Canal,
but unconfirmed reports indicate that Russian troops have attached themselves to houses in the south of Canal.
However,
there has been no change to the battle map as there is nothing to confirm this at this time.
Russian forces may be preparing for their next major offensive.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast.
The following is an update on the situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka sector
The Russians made four attacks in this area.
1st.
of these attacks was between Ocheretine and Soloviove,
since the footage of drone strikes by the Ukrainian army showed that the Russians were advancing about 600 meters west of Ocheretine,
1.5 to 2.5 kilometers east of Sokir,
and about 500 meters west of Soloviove.
We have updated the battle map as Russian troops occupied from the disputed area.
2nd.
Umanske was occupied by Russian troops on the south side of the lake,
and the north side of the lake was under fire control of Ukrainian troops.
We have multiple reports that Russian troops have sent soldiers and successfully established a base,
so we have updated the battle map to assume that Russian troops have occupied that area from the disputed territory.
The area is about 4 square kilometers.
Third.
In Netaylove,
which we have been reporting on recently,
the Russian MoD has claimed occupation,
and the Institute of War Studies has assessed that this is highly likely,
and several pieces of information indicate that the disputed area north of the settlement has also been successfully encircled by Russian forces,
so we have updated the battle map to show that Russian forces have occupied that area from the disputed area.
The area is 3.5 square kilometers.
The area is about 3.5 square kilometers.
Currently,
the road connecting Umanske and Netilove has become a kill zone,
repelling approaching Russian soldiers.
Marinka direction
Vuhledar area
In this area,
the Russians attacked Krasnohorivka,
Paraskovyivka,
and Sorodke in the Marinka sector,
and also attacked Stalomaiorsk.
In Krasnohorivka,
north of Marinka,
video footage with location information shows several Ukrainian Bradley and BMP infantry fighting vehicles attacking and counter-attacking into Russian-occupied territory.
The Russians responded with artillery fire and drones,
and some reports indicate that the Russians were repulsed,
while others,
on the contrary,
indicate that the Ukrainian army recaptured some areas.
What we are showing you is from the 238th Artillery Brigade of the Russian Army,
and is part of the appearance of the area shown on the map.
We have updated the battle map of the area from the Russian occupied area to the disputed area.
Rear Area
The port of Azov in Krasnodar,
occupied Luhansk,
and Russian authorities report air defense activity in Moscow,
where five drones were shot down and debris from one of them fell on a house.
South,
Zaporizhia Oblast.
South,
province of Kherson.
In this sector,
the Russians made four attacks near Robotyne and at Krinky,
but the Russian attacks were unsuccessful and the battle map remained unchanged.
This is a brief report with selected news about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where necessary.
1st.
Russian forces bombed a large shopping center in Harkiv on May 25,
leaving 18 dead,
48 wounded,
and 5 missing.
In response to this tragic attack,
the NATO Parliament adopted a declaration on May 27,
stating that gUkraine should be allowed to use Western weapons to attack military targets in Russia.
Meanwhile,
the well-known Telegram channel,
which provides inside information on the Kremlin,
reported that Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov submitted a report to President Putin on three things.
The first is that gthe possibility of war with NATO is near,h he reportedly said,
gNATO is superior to Russia in terms of finances and in terms of any of its weapons.
However,
NATO is an indecisive and impractical organization,
and this is where Russia has an advantage.
Second,
he noted that gwith a high probability,
the United States and most of its allies will allow the use of Western weapons on Russian territory,h and third,
gwithin the next two to four months,
200,000 to 400,000 Russian troops must be invited and increased.
Otherwise,
Russia may lose its territory,h he said,
calling for mobilization.
Second.
After a videoconference with the French Defense Minister,
General Shirsky,
commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
announced that he gwelcomed the dispatch of the French military instructors to Ukraine and signed the necessary documents for their stay.
France,
meanwhile,
told the Associated Press that gthis issue is under consideration.
Third.
The British MoD announced in an analytical report that the cost of Russia's war has exceeded $211 billion.
The video added that the war,
which is scheduled to end in three days,
is now in its third year,
that Russia is short 4.8 million workers,
and that war costs in excess of $211 billion will have a major impact on the future of the Russian people.
Fourth.
President Zelensky visited Spain,
where he and PM Sanchez signed a bilateral security agreement and announced a record 6 billion euros in military aid.
About $1 billion of that will include dozens of Patriot air defense missiles and 19 Leopard 2A4s,
as we reported in our video on the 22nd.
Fifth.
Ukraine's main intelligence directorate,
GUR,
apparently used a drone to destroy a long-range radar more than 1,800 kilometers away in Orsk,
local media reported the destruction.
The attack,
with a flight distance of 1,800 kilometers,
broke the previous record of 1,400 kilometers.
This radar is said to be capable of detecting ballistic missiles such as ATACMS in addition to aircraft,
and is the same type of radar that was destroyed in the video on the 25th.
That's all for today.
Please feel free to leave your analysis of the war situation,
your thoughts on the news,
and any updates in the comments section.
Thank you for watching.
