The situation in Ukraine
It has been 907 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First of all,
some general information.
According to the latest announcement from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian military suffered losses of
1,170 soldiers
7 tanks
7 armored fighting vehicles
71 artillery guns
1 multiple rocket launcher
38 drones
3 cruise missiles
81 other vehicles
There were 99 reports of ground battles in a single day across the entire front line...
Now,
let's take a look at the situation in each region.
We will focus on areas where the situation is changing.
You can follow these changes along with the dates by displaying the full screen on a large screen...
Northeast: Kursk and Kharkiv
It has been 11 days since the Ukrainian army invaded Kursk on August 6th...
Kursk
The weather in Kursk,
which affects the operation,
is fine
with a minimum temperature of 15 degrees and a maximum temperature of 28 degrees
The weather forecast for today is also fine...
In this area,
the Ukrainian army's advance continues,
and the Russian army's surrender is also noticeable.
Regarding the incident where the entire 102-man company surrendered four days ago,
the soldiers of the Russian army's 488th Rifle Regiment were mostly 18- to 19-year-old conscripts who had graduated from school and gone straight into military service,
and they retreated because the Ukrainian army attacked them.
Then,
the Chechen Ahmat troops,
who were in the rear,
opened fire,
so they fled in the opposite direction and surrendered to the Ukrainian army.
In addition,
the Western media have been pouring into Kursk,
and the Washington Post is reporting that 250 Russian conscripts have surrendered,
and that the commander of the 1st Battalion of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Russian army has been captured by the Ukrainian army,
and that the unit,
having lost its commander,
is withdrawing from its position.
In addition,
it appears that criminal proceedings are being prepared against high-ranking Russian military officials who failed to prevent the invasion of Kursk,
and the Kyiv Post reports that gthe blame game has begunh.
Gruzivoye
In the Gruzivoye area,
where two bridges over the Seim River were destroyed in yesterday's video and the Russian military is effectively surrounded,
a Russian military blogger laments that gthe Russian military in this area urgently needs to escape,
but that decision has not been madeh.
The remaining bridge is not even 8km from the border,
so it can be easily targeted by artillery from Ukrainian territory.
It is thought that the Ukrainian army will deliberately leave one bridge open so that they can attack the Russian army as they pass through.
It has to be said that the situation in this area is extremely tough for the Russian army.
In this situation,
although it is unconfirmed information,
the Ukrainian army has invaded the area north of Tetkino,
and according to Russian sources,
they have occupied the settlement of Ortva.
This area is surrounded by the Ukrainian border to the northwest and the Seym River to the southeast.
Speaking of Tetkino,
in March this year,
the gArmy of Russian Freedomh crossed the border and took control of the town.
We have updated the battle map to show the area occupied by the Ukrainian army...
Korenevo area
The Ukrainian army is continuing to advance in this area.
First
A Russian military blogger reported that the Ukrainian army had captured Bakhov and Apanasovka.
Although this is unconfirmed information,
when Russian military bloggers report something that is not in their favor,
it is usually true,
so we have updated the battle map to show that the Ukrainian army has occupied the disputed area.
There is also unconfirmed information that the Ukrainian army has occupied Snagost,
but we will wait for confirmation on this.
Second
According to information from multiple social networking sites,
the Ukrainian military launched an attack from the north of Korenevo and occupied part of the area.
In the photo,
you can see Ukrainian soldiers in the center of the city.
Korenevo is a town of railway workers with a population of 6,000. It is divided into east and west by the Krevna River,
and the Ukrainian army has occupied the higher ground.
We have updated the battle map to show the area that the Ukrainian army has occupied from the disputed territory.
The area is about 4.5 square kilometers.
Malaya Lhokhnya area
The Russian military is carrying out air strikes in this area to check the movements of the Ukrainian military.
On social networking sites,
there are some photos showing that the Ukrainian military has captured the town of Anastasiivka,
but as we have not been able to confirm this,
we will leave the battle map as it is for now...
Prefovo area
As we reported in yesterday's video,
after combining multiple unconfirmed reports,
it is highly likely that the Ukrainian army has occupied the areas of Uranok and Nizhnemahovo.
We have reduced the area controlled by the Russian army to this extent,
and have updated the battle map to show that the Ukrainian army has occupied the area,
changing the color of Uranok and Nizhnemahovo to blue.
Further on,
there is a ground battle in Gili,
and for the time being there has been no change in the situation.
Northeast: Luhansk Oblast
East: ChasivYar
We will report on the situation in the ChasivYar area from Kupyansk.
In this area,
the Russian army launched 10 attacks in the Kupyansk area,
6 attacks on the Svatove-Kreminna line,
7 attacks in the vicinity of Siversk,
3 attacks in the vicinity of ChasivYar,
and 11 attacks in the direction of Tretyak.
Svatove-Kreminna line
The Russian army has increased the number of attacks in this area,
trying to disperse the Ukrainian army's fighting strength.
In Makhivka,
according to the video with location information,
the Russian army attacked from the north and east and made a small advance.
The video you are watching is from the 115th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
and shows the area north of Makhivka,
as indicated on the map.
We have updated the battle map to show the Russian army's advance from the disputed area.
The Russian army has crossed the Zerebets River and is infiltrating,
so the situation is developing rapidly.
ChasivYar area
The Russian army has been gradually infiltrating the west side of the canal in this area,
but on this day the Ukrainian army launched a counterattack at the front line in ChasivYar and made a small advance.
According to the video with location information,
the Ukrainian army launched a counterattack at Zoftnevi and took control of the west side of the canal.
The video you are watching is from the Russian side,
and shows part of a drone observation of the positions that were taken by the Ukrainian army.
The battle map has been updated to show that the Ukrainian army has recaptured this area from the disputed territory...
Tretyak area
In Pivnichne,
we reported on the advance of the Russian army in yesterday's video,
and the Russian army continued to attempt to invade the city of Tretyak,
but the Ukrainian army repelled the reconnaissance unit,
and there were no changes to the battle map...
South-East Donetsk Oblast
We will report on the situation in the Pokrovsk,
Kravkov-Bremivka area.
In this area,
the Russian army has launched an unknown number of attacks in the Pokrovsk area,
10 in the Kravkov area,
and 1 in the Bremivka area...
Pokrovsk area
In this area,
the Russian army is advancing with a narrow axis of attack,
while the Ukrainian army is gradually retreating and fighting off the Russian army.
In Zelenne,
according to the video with location information,
Russian soldiers surrounded the Ukrainian army's trenches,
and although a Ukrainian army unit was left behind,
a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle came to the rescue,
clearing out the Russian soldiers.
The Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade is shown here,
and the map shows the area where the Ukrainian troops are retreating.
The battle map has been updated to show that the Russian troops have advanced north of Mikolayivka,
Novo-Zeranne and Mezove.
The area is about 6.5 square kilometers.
According to unconfirmed information,
the Russian army has already occupied Mykolayivka and entered part of the settlement of Novozeranne...
Krakhov area
In this area,
the Russian army launched an attack using armored vehicles,
but the Ukrainian army repelled them and this did not lead to any Russian advances.
North of Povyda,
according to the video with location information,
a column of Russian military vehicles launched an attack,
but was repelled.
What you are looking at is the 33rd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
and shows the situation at the location indicated on the map.
This is an event that took place in the disputed territory,
so there are no changes to the battle map.
In addition,
in another unspecified location,
there is information that the Russian military launched an attack with one tank,
25 armored vehicles,
and one ATV,
and the Ukrainian military destroyed one tank,
five armored vehicles,
and one ATV and repelled the attack.
Rear Area
Even though there have been reports of explosions recently,
other news has attracted attention and reports of damage have become less frequent,
but on this day,
there were reports of seven explosions near the Crimean Bridge,
and just a short while ago,
there was a drone attack on an oil tank in Rostov,
and you can see flames rising from the ground.
Southern Zaporizhzhya Oblast
Southern province of Kherson
The Russian army launched four attacks in this area,
but each was repelled by the Ukrainian army,
and there was no information that affected the battle map.
According to Ukrainian military spokesman Lykhoviy,
gThere are between 75,000 and 90,000 Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhya area,
and around 1,500 have been pulled out to the Kursk area.h...
That's all for today.
