Ukraine Situation
It has been 716 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First some general things.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian military losses were
910 soldiers
2 tanks
22 armored combat vehicles
24 cannons
1 air defense system
18 drones
1 cruise missile
42 other vehicles.
Across the entire front,
92 ground battles were reported in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of visually confirmed losses of Ukrainian and Russian equipment is 1 to 3.7,
with the Russian side losing 3.7 times as much as the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are dominated by civilian vans,
tanks and military trucks,
which continue to be on the offensive.
On the Ukrainian side,
SUVs stand out.
Here is a brief update on the news regarding the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to see where you need to go.
1.
Tucker Carlson's interview with President Putin is now available.
Here is a brief summary of the two-hour interview conducted by a Western journalist who opposes U.S.
support for Ukraine,
The first question was,
"Why did you start invading Ukraine?" The president spent half an hour telling his own story,
which seemed to depress Carlson,
who asked,
"So why did you invade now,
after being president for 24 years?" He replied,
"It was never called Ukraine,
it was finally enshrined as part of Russia," denying the existence of a country called Ukraine and insisting that it is part of Russia.
The following are some of the statements that stood out: When asked when he last spoke with President Biden,
he replied,
"I can't remember,
why should I remember everything?" He replied,
"I can't remember.
Regarding the Wall Street Journal reporters detained in Russia,
he refused to immediately release them.
He claimed that the U.S.
was responsible for the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline.
The president said that "Russia has not yet achieved its goals in Ukraine" and asked,
"Are you satisfied with the territory you have now?
He did not answer the question,
"Are you satisfied with the territory you have now?
He concluded by saying that "it is impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield," adding that "the West seems to be aware of this.
We are ready for dialogue",
adding that "Ukraine does not want to respond to dialogue".
Second.
President Zelensky dismissed Commander Zaruzhny and appointed Commander Shirsky as Supreme Commander.
According to the President's speech,
Commander Shirsky was the commander who commanded the Kyiv defense operation and the liberation of Kharkiv (Kharkiv),
and according to the article,
while he is a good commander,
he has little support from his men,
is called a "butcher" by some soldiers,
and is seen on the front lines wary that there may be an impossible attack It comes to mind.
3.
Starlink seems to have been given to Russia.
According to information posted on social networking sites by soldiers on the front lines,
the Russian military has purchased large quantities of Starlink and has begun to use it systematically in the occupied territories.
Starlink is a satellite-based Internet communications system founded by Elon Musk that was initially provided to Ukraine free of charge and attracted a lot of attention,
but it gradually became unstable after Elon Musk made contact with the Russian ambassador and was later changed to a pay-as-you-go system.
It was later changed to a pay-as-you-go basis,
and the Ukrainian military's communications were frequently disrupted during operations.
Recent reports from the Ukrainian military frontlines have often referred to extremely slow Internet speeds.
Starlink's differences with Russia stand out in contrast to companies like Apple and Google,
which have shut down their services in Russia due to sanctions.
So with that,
here is the war situation in each region.
Here is where the situation is changing.
Northeastern Luhansk Oblast
Eastern Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the Siversk area to Bakhmut.
In this area,
the Russians attacked three times in Shinkivka,
nine times mainly in Terny and Bilohorivka,
and eight times in the Bakhmut area.
The Russians used two North Korean Mars 11 ballistic missiles in the attack on Kharkiv.
Svatbekremina line
1.
In Dibrova,
positional video footage shows that Russian forces launched an attack along the Donetsk-Luhansk border,
while Ukrainian forces used airburst munitions,
Ukrainian forces aggressively used airburst and cluster munitions,
and the Russians were repulsed with heavy losses of at least five tanks and one BMP infantry fighting vehicle.
The picture shown is of the 45th Independent Artillery Brigade of the Ukrainian Army observing the Russian convoy,
although we cannot show you the flashy part due to platform rules.
The Ukrainian army is said to be in a difficult situation due to a serious shortage of artillery ammunition,
but it seems that where there is some,
there is some.
2.
Meanwhile,
the Ukrainian Army has launched an attack south of the military cemetery in the Serebryansky Forest and has advanced through the forest,
clearing Russian strongholds.
The image shown here is of the Azov Battalion operating near three Russian positions.
The battle map has been updated to show Ukrainian forces retaking the area occupied by the Russians.
Sibersk and surroundings
1.
In Bilohorivka,
where we reported in yesterday's video that there was no artillery fire because the Ukrainian army was surprised by the Russians,
who sacrificed themselves and called for artillery support but ran out of ammunition,
I looked for it and found a video of the artillery fire on the Russian side.
According to the video with location information,
the Russians were shelling the southwest corner of the processing plant.
This location was retaken by the Ukrainian forces on December 30,
but we have updated the battle map to the disputed area again.
2.
In Vessele,
Ukrainian troops counter-attacked.
According to the position video,
the Russians are conducting a drone attack to the east of Veselay,
which confirms the presence of Ukrainian troops at this location.
What we are showing you is part of the Russian drone footage of the Russian military observing the buildings shown on the map.
We have updated the battle map of the area from Russian occupied to disputed territory.
and around Bakhmut.
In Bohdanivka,
located footage shows that Russian forces have advanced and launched an attack on the border forest northwest of the town.
Given the slightly elevated position of the site overlooking the settlement of Bohodanivka,
the Ukrainian troops retreated slightly to avoid being a direct target.
The image shown here is of the Ukrainian Army's 93rd Mechanized Brigade shelling the area with recoilless artillery.
The battle map has been updated to show that the Russians have reoccupied the area,
which was retaken by Ukrainian forces on the first of this month.
Southeastern Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is overcast.
The minimum temperature is -7 degrees Celsius and the maximum is -1 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast predicts rain or snow.
The weather forecast site we showed you recently is not working well,
so we will use the information from the new site.
Wind speed is measured in kilometers per hour,
so multiply the written number by about 0.3 to get meters per second.
A wind speed of 10 kilometers per hour is equivalent to a wind speed of 2.7 meters per second.
Here are the current conditions in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka
The Russians launched an offensive in this area,
making 40 attacks,
mainly on Avdiivka.
The mayor of Barabash in Avdiivka said that the Russians have already carried out 800 airstrikes this year,
an average of 20 airstrikes a day.
The first.
Near the mine site known as Terikon,
which has been the main focus of the Russian military,
the Russians have been aggressively attacking the coking plant with reserve units.
According to some information,
Ukrainian troops are defending this area,
but they are believed to be advancing as far as the forest in front of the residential area shown on the map,
so we have updated the battle map to include this area as Russian occupied territory.
The symbols are dated,
so you can follow the detailed changes in the war situation in full-screen mode.
Second.
The bridge leading to the coking plant is under siege.
The Russians are trying to advance from here to the coking plant,
but the Ukrainians are trying to stop them.
There are reports that this bridge has been taken,
but it is not clear at this time.
The area of engagement has been expanded to the west of the railroad tracks as artillery and mortar fire is being fired in the vicinity of this bridge.
3.
In the residential area to the east of the area,
Russian troops continue to engage in urban warfare with Ukrainian troops as infantrymen go from house to house.
The Russians may have advanced two blocks along Sapronova Street and about one block north of that on Nezhazhnosti Street,
but as the Russians advance,
the Ukrainians counterattack and push back.
We have updated the battle map with this area of contested territory.
These are the areas where the battle map for Avdiivka changes,
otherwise the Russian attack was repulsed by the Ukrainian forces and the battle map remains unchanged.
Fourth.
In Pervomaiske,
the positional video shows Russian forces advancing south of the lake,
while Ukrainian forces are shelling near the intersection of roads running diagonally to the E50 highway,
They have advanced to this location.
The battle map has been updated to show this area as occupied by Russian forces from Ukrainian-occupied and contested territory.
Marinka Area
In this sector the Russians conducted 22 attacks.
To the southeast of Novomirovka,
Russian troops are attempting to gain a foothold in the town,
while Ukrainian troops are trying to prevent them from doing so.
The Russians appear to have entered the town,
advancing about three blocks from where we reported yesterday and claiming occupation by planting Russian flags at the locations indicated on the map.
Also,
two blocks to the west,
Ukrainian troops are defending and blocking the advance of Russian troops.
The battle is a repetitive push and pull,
with the Russians advancing,
then the Ukrainians counterattacking,
and then the Russians retreating.
The battle map has been updated to show an expanded area of disputed territory.
Zaporizhia Province,
Southern Ukraine
In this sector,
the Russians made two attacks at Robotyne and Verbove,
but the battle map remains unchanged.
Rear Area
On this day,
there was a 100-100 prisoner exchange on the Russian border in the north,
and a fire was reported at the Karai refinery in Krasnodar.
It is also unclear how much impact this news will have,
There is information that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian military hacked into the server that remotely controls the Russian military's DJI drones and disabled their operation.
This has apparently forced the Russian military to manually operate each and every drone.
Southern province of Kherson.
In this direction,
the Russians made four attacks in Krinky,
but the Ukrainian forces repelled them,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
