Situation in Ukraine
It has been 713 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 1,020 soldiers
17 tanks
35 armored combat vehicles
18 artillery guns
1 air defense system
51 other vehicles.
In total,
105 ground engagements were reported on the front during the day.
As we will report later,
the situation is becoming tense as the Russians launch a heavy offensive in Avdiivka.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you want.
1.
The Netherlands has announced that it will add six more F-16s to the number it is providing to Ukraine,
bringing the total to 24.
Dutch Defense Minister Ollongren updated his social networking site,
stating that "to counter Russian aggression,
we need air superiority".
The Netherlands has 42 F-16s and has already transitioned to F-35s,
so it plans to provide Ukraine with all but what it needs to train its own pilots,
and in an interview last year he said that considering training,
parts,
and runway maintenance,
a realistic time frame for the transfer would be this year.
2.
President Putin held a joint press conference with President Lukashenko in which he stated that "Russia will do everything in its power to completely eradicate Nazism in Ukraine and the Baltic states.
Pravda,
which reported this,
said,
"There are professional liars in the world,
so let's make sure our readers understand the truth about Hitler and are able to recognize political lies and propaganda.
3.
Forbes noted that the Russian military could run out of infantry fighting vehicles in another six months.
The magazine presented an analysis of the OSINT account,
which analyzes the war situation from publicly available information,
and found that Russian military losses have skyrocketed this year,
with the loss of 400 BMP infantry fighting vehicles per month.
Meanwhile,
Russia has an inventory of 4,811 old vehicles and has recently recalled 1,081 vehicles,
which it is trying to maintain and put on the front line.
Of the remaining 3,730 vehicles,
765 are beyond repair,
and since BMPs are produced at a rate of 30 to 40 per month,
he noted,
the Russian Army will run out of infantry fighting vehicles in another six months.
He also pointed out that the Russian army is already fighting an unsustainable war,
gaining only a few hundred meters of territory per day.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the area around Siversk to Bakhmut.
In this area the Russians attacked at least once at Shinkivka,
three times at Terny,
and three times in the direction of Bakhmut.
Kupyansk area
According to some reports,
the Russian army has gathered 500 tanks near Kupyansk,
while the Ukrainian army has prepared thousands of drones to confront the Russian army,
and there is a possibility that the Russian army will break through this area with tanks.
Now,
in Shinkivka,
Russian troops may have made a slight advance,
according to the located video.
The Ukrainian army is attacking the Russian positions with a drone at the location shown on the map north of the village,
which confirms that the Russians have reached this location.
The battle map remains unchanged as the Ukrainian forces were eventually repulsed,
but caution is advised as the Ukrainian army faces a growing shortage of artillery ammunition.
Svatove-Kreminna line
1.
Russian forces launched an offensive and advanced about 2.7 kilometers east of Terny and Yampolivka.
According to the video,
combined with positions and other information,
the Russians attacked and advanced along the forest east of Terny and along the forest also east of Yampolivka.
What we are showing you are the Russian tanks and BMP infantry fighting vehicles that were destroyed east of Yampolivka.
The Russians appear to have adopted the tactic of advancing until the Ukrainian forces attack and then using infantry as a signal to attack.
We have updated the battle map as the Russians have advanced to this location.
The area is approximately 2.5 square kilometers.
2.
According to the local Telegram channel,
a meeting between Russian security forces and the Luhansk occupying government took place in a restaurant called Adriatica in Lysychansk,
where local residents were also poured with vodka.
Shortly thereafter,
HIMARS flew in and 28 participants,
including Luhansk Emergency Situations Minister Pantereshchenko,
were sent to hell.
The Russian government responded by accusing the Ukrainian military of indiscriminately attacking the bakery.
Bakhmut area
Ukrainian troops advance in this direction.
1.
North of Klishchiivka,
we reported the advance of the Ukrainian army in our video of the 2nd,
and according to the video with location information,
the Ukrainian army continued its offensive and recaptured the entire area indicated on the map of the entry route to Klishchiivka.
What we are showing you is from the Russian side and is a view of the trenches in the area indicated on the map.
This area was occupied by the Russians on December 18,
but the battle map has been updated to show that the Ukrainian army has retaken the southern part of the approach route.
The area is about 1.5 square kilometers.
2.
In addition,
on the road from Klishchiivka to Bakhmut the Ukrainian forces counterattacked and managed to retake the road to the crossing.
The Ukrainian army once advanced to the northern side of the railroad,
but then was counterattacked by the Russians and withdrew back to the railroad.
The picture shown here is from the Russian side,
where Ukrainian and Russian troops are approaching each other on the north side of the railroad.
Assuming that the Ukrainian forces have retaken the line,
we have updated the battle map to show part of the area north of the line as disputed territory.
Southeast Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy and rainy.
The minimum temperature is 1 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is 9 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast calls for snow.
The forecast has been updated and is expected to cool down quickly as the weather worsens.
Here is an update on the situation in the Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar areas.
Avdiivka area
In this area,
the Russians conducted a total of 44 ground attacks,
including on Avdiivka,
Pervomaiske,
and Neveleske.
1.
In the residential area south of the mine site,
called Terikon,
the Russians concentrated their forces and launched offensives in the western and southern directions.
The Ukrainian forces are counter-attacking in the western direction because of the proximity of the coking plant and the threat of losing the southern half of Avdiivka if the Russians are allowed to advance in the southern direction at this location.
As we reported in yesterday's video,
this location has already been plunged into urban warfare,
town by town,
with civilians still living in the area without being evacuated.
The Ukrainian Army has also captured Russian soldiers at the location indicated on the map,
confirming that this location is the front line and slightly expanding the area of disputed territory to the west and south.
2.
East of Neveleske,
unconfirmed reports indicate that Ukrainian forces have counterattacked and retaken some areas.
We will update the war situation here if we can confirm this.
3.
The exact location is unknown,
but a Russian soldier went out from his position early this morning to buy bread and was captured as he passed the Ukrainian military position.
Video footage shows the Russian soldiers greeting the Ukrainian troops and disarming them as instructed.
Marinka Area
The Russians conducted more than 14 attacks in this sector,
but there was no information about any change in the battle map.
As reported in previous videos,
Russian troops advanced in convoys in Novomihailivka in December and January,
but each time they were repulsed by Ukrainian troops,
which made it impossible to continue the attack due to heavy losses.
Southern Province of Zaporizhia
Southern Kherson Province
In this sector the Russians attacked four times in Priutne and Robotyne and three times in Krinky,
but the Ukrainian army defended itself and there was no information that would affect the battle map.
Others.
Please watch the video to the end to see a residential area south of Avdiivka,
which is the scene of a fierce battle today.
Ukrainian and Russian troops are fighting here.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
