Situation in Ukraine
It has been 808 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.

First of all,
general matters.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 1,320 soldiers
15 tanks
40 armored fighting vehicles
55 guns
2 multiple rocket launchers
1 air defense system
42 drones
1 cruise missile
73 other vehicles.

Across the entire front,
95 ground battles were reported in a single day.

And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.7 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.

Losses on the Russian side were mostly infantry fighting vehicles,
motorcycles,
and tanks,
with assault tactics,
especially using motorcycles,
becoming more prominent in recent days.

Defense Express military expert Kirichevsky explained on TV that Russian troops launched an attack across the border in Harkiv (Kharkiv) at about 5:00 am.

"The Russian army has 50,000 troops on the 700-kilometer border,

If they have not made significant advances in the first 12 hours,
the invasion of Kharkiv will be a failure.

Harkiv is the second largest city in Ukraine,

An oil refinery in Kaluga,
Russia,
300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border,
was attacked by a drone,
causing a massive fire.

Video footage shows flames and smoke rising from the plant.

around midnight,
several drones were heard flying overhead and fire and smoke were observed near the first plant oil storage area.

This refinery is the largest refinery in the Kaluga region,
with an annual refining capacity of 1.2 million tons,
and was attacked in March of this year.

There were other attacks by ATACMS on oil refineries in the Russian-occupied Luhansk Oblast today,

Northeast: Harkiv area

The Russians have chosen to invade Harkiv in the last month of stagnant Western support.

Russian forces launched offensive operations in two directions,
toward Lipsi and toward Volchansk,
and appear to have invaded about 5 to 10 kilometers from the border.

The Russians crossed the border at Strilecha,
Krasne,
Molokhove,
Orinikove,
and Zelene along the border around Lipsi,
and at Khatishche in Bolchansk to the east of it,
where they launched an attack mainly with infantry.
The Institute for the Study of War assessed that the Russians would undoubtedly have occupied Strilecha,
Krasne,
and Bolishivka.

along the main road north of Orinikove,

Northeast: toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
toward Bakhmut

This section reports on the Svatove-Kreminna line,
from the area around Sivelsk to Bakhmut.

In this area,
the Russians attacked 13 times in Kupyansk,
4 times along the Svatove-Kreminna line,
and 21 times around Sibersk and in the direction of Bakhmut.

ChasivYar area

Fighting is taking place in this sector,
but the Russian advance has stalled.

There are reports that Russian forces are regrouping in preparation for attacks on urban areas. The Russians have regrouped 250 assault troops in the 98th Airborne Division to reinforce their attacks on Canal and Novy.

A Ukrainian military commander told The Economist that "Russian troops are using all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and motorcycles to attack in the region.

The Russian army is advancing with soldiers on two-seater motorcycles and sidecars,
but as far as the author can see from the video,
the soldiers are lightly armed and seem to be ineffective as they are being knocked down one after another by Ukrainian gunfire and drone attacks.

The battle map also shows that the Russian attack was repulsed by the Ukrainian forces,
and no change in the battle map was observed.

Southeastern Donetsk Oblast

Weather in Avdiivka was sunny.
The minimum temperature is 5 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 18 degrees Celsius.
The weather forecast for today also calls for sunshine.

and Vuhledar.

Avdiivka

The Russian offensive in this area may have passed its peak,
especially in the area around Ocheretine,
where Russian forces have been stagnant for the past few days.

Umanske,
Russian military bloggers are claiming occupation,
but as we reported yesterday,
Russian troops were able to put up a flag claiming occupation in the center of the town,
but there have been no signs of activity since then,

South of Pervomaiske,

The Russians made seven attacks in this area,
