Situation in Ukraine
It's been 651 days since Russia invaded Kyiv,
so let's start with general matters.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the losses of Russian troops are,

1,
270 soldiers
13 tanks
40 armored fighting vehicles
37 guns
51 drones
6 multi-rocket launchers
0 air defense systems
54 other vehicles.

The entire front reported 73 ground battles in a single day.

The Russians once again launched a major offensive on Avdiivka,
but with no results.

and
the ratio of the number of Ukrainian military equipment losses to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.3 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.

Here is a brief news report on the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use the YouTube chapter feature to watch where necessary.

1st.

The head of Ukraine's presidential administration,
Yelmark,
expressed concern that
"Ukraine will lose" the war with Russia if U.S. support is delayed.

Secretary Yelmark expressed his sense of urgency at an event at an American think tank,
stating that
"Ukraine will lose this war because continued territorial liberation will be impossible."

During his visit to the U.S.,
Secretary Yelmark plans to actively urge lawmakers and
government officials to ensure that
the U.S. Congress approves support measures for Ukraine.

2nd.
Meanwhile,
in a letter to the White House Office of Management and
Budget,
U.S. House Speaker Johnson stressed that
"additional financing for Ukraine depends on the adoption of amendments to our nation's border security legislation,

He stated that
there would be no support for Ukraine unless it agreed to build a wall on the Mexican border,
restrict immigration,
and
strengthen border security.

Since the Biden administration is opposed to tighter border controls,
it will be interesting to see how the Biden administration responds between support for Ukraine,
which Republicans oppose,
and
Mexican immigration,
which Democrats oppose.

Third.
British Foreign Minister David Cameron told parliament that
Britain will provide "the same or more financial support to Ukraine next year than it has in the past,
" without giving a figure,

Without giving any figures,
he added that
"the UK has provided 4.6 billion pounds (850 billion yen) of aid this year.

He also said that
"Ukraine is making progress" in the war and
that
"there are difficulties on the ground,
but we have opened up the grain corridor in the Black Sea,
and
overall it is a great success.

Foreign Minister David Cameron will visit the U.S. today to express Britain's unwavering support for Ukraine.

Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.

Northeast,
toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
toward Bakhmut

In this sector,
the Russians attacked 10 times in Shinkivka and
Petropavlivka,
11 times in the Serebryansky Forest,
and
16 times in Bakhmut.

Svatove-Kreminna line

In the direction of Chervonopopivka,
the Ukrainian army advanced in November,
but in December,
the Russians stepped up their offensive,
took positions from the Ukrainian army,
and
then attacked toward Terny.

According to the video with location information,
Russian troops are attacking the Ukrainian positions with drones,
which indicates that
the Russians are on the offensive.

What we are showing you is the Russian side of the video,
which shows the Ukrainian military positions in the vicinity of the battle map.

We have updated the war map of this area from Ukrainian recaptured territory to Russian occupied and
disputed territory.

Around Siversk

Russian forces have advanced west of Zolotarivka and
established a stronghold in the vicinity of the battle map.

Russian forces have been on the offensive in this vicinity since late last month,
and
soldiers from the Ukrainian Army's 54th Mechanized Brigade have released a nighttime drone attack on the area.

What we are showing you is a view of a Russian military trench at the location shown on the battle map.

The battle map has been updated to show this area as occupied by Russian troops from the disputed area.

Bakhmut area

1st.
In Bohdanivka,
north of Bakhmut,
the Russians continued their offensive yesterday,
and
the Russians have advanced to the edge of the town.

The following is a video of the Russian tactical assessment,
showing that
the Russian Vostok Volunteer Assault Force has just reached the edge of the town after conducting reconnaissance.

The battle plan remains unchanged.

Second.

North of Kromove,
multiple reports indicate that
Ukrainian troops have entered a rear defensive position and
have retreated to the rear,
where Russian troops have advanced.

The extent of the advance is somewhat fluid,
but we will keep the map as a general map of the situation and
update it when we have more information.

Third.
Conversely,
in Mayorsk,
the positional analysis we reported in our December 3 video came in and
showed that
Ukrainian forces were based just west of the railroad.

We have updated the battle map as Ukrainian forces have recaptured that
area.

Southeast Donetsk Oblast.

Weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
Lowest temperature -4 degrees Celsius,
highest 0 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy.

A cold wave is expected to arrive this weekend.

Here is an update on the conditions in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and
Vuhledar.

Avdiivka area

Russian troops have made 23 attacks in this sector,
but there has been no advance of Russian troops.

Ukrainian military spokesman Stupun appeared on state television and
said,
"In the past three weeks,
80 Russian soldiers have surrendered.
Russian troops are shooting at each other as they try to flee the front lines,
using drones to attack their own wounded soldiers,
and
preventing prisoners of war,
desertion,
and
surrender,
" he said,
describing the harsh conditions on the front lines.

Also,
as expected,
we cannot show it to you on YouTube,
but the video the poster saw shows Russian soldiers shooting at fellow soldiers and
looting their bodies,

The captured Russian soldier was told to "commit suicide with a grenade rather than be captured and
tortured by the Ukrainians."

1st.
At the entrance to Stepove,
the Russians were assaulting with armored vehicles,
which were repulsed by Ukrainian troops.

The MTLB armored fighting vehicles were seen ramming into the area shown on the battle map.

2nd.
North of the coal plant,
the Russians are assaulting the coal plant,
and
the Ukrainians are clearing them out each time,
but the Russians are constantly sending in soldiers,
some of whom are advancing and
digging trenches.

The image shown is from the 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army and
shows the Russian trenches near the battle map.

The disputed area was slightly expanded in this vicinity.

Otherwise,
in the factories south of Avdiivka and
in the axis of attack from Vozhane to Pervomaiske,
the Russian attack was repulsed and
the battle map remains unchanged.

Marinka sector

In this sector,
the Russians launched 13 attacks on Marinka and
Novomihailivka,
which were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battle picture unchanged.

South,
Zaporizhia Province.

There were no changes in the war picture in this sector.

Rear areas

In Crimea,
more than 40 drones were flown by Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate and
Ukraine's Security Service,
apparently attacking radar systems,
electronic warfare systems,
helicopter parking sites,
and
anti-aircraft missiles in Feodosiya,
Baherove,
and
Cape Chauda,

More than 30 oil tanks were set on fire and
about 15 explosions occurred near the Crimean Bridge,
which was closed to traffic.

In response,
the Russian Defense Ministry claims to have shot down 35 Ukrainian drones.

The feature of the attack was the furthest from Ukraine in the occupied Crimea,
which could have been a major blow to Russian forces in Crimea.

South,
in the province of Kherson.

In this area,
Russian forces have concentrated their airstrikes on Kulinksy's war map locations,
trying to contain Ukrainian troop movements on more than 26 occasions,

There was no information on any change in the war situation.

Miscellaneous
On this day 29 years ago in Budapest,
U.S. President Clinton,
Russian President Yeltsin,
Ukrainian President Kuchma,
and
British Prime Minister Major signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on Security Arrangements for Ukraine's Accession to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty,

The memorandum included the statement,
"The signatory countries call upon the United Nations Security Council to take immediate action to provide assistance to Ukraine in the event that
it becomes a victim of aggression."

That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
