Situation in Ukraine
It has been 844 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First of all,
general matters.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses are 1160 soldiers
No tanks
6 armored fighting vehicles
58 guns
1 multi-role rocket
11 drones
3 cruise missiles and 59 other vehicles
The total number of vehicles was
In the entire front there were 81 reported ground battles in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of equipment losses between Ukrainian and Russian forces,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.6,
compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are mostly military trucks,
civilian vans,
and tanks,
while on the Ukrainian side,
Starlink antennas stand out.
Now,
here is the battle situation in each region.
We will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes with the date if you use the full screen on the big screen.
Northeast,
Harkiv area
This section reports on the war situation in the Halkiu area,
where the Russian military invaded across the border on May 10.
The weather in Harkiv is rainy.
Minimum temperature 18 degrees Celsius,
maximum temperature 24 degrees Celsius.
Thunderstorms are in the forecast for today.
Russian troops are struggling in this area.
Russian forces have made three attacks,
all of which were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and the Russian army is still isolated in Vovtyansk.
Vovtyansk area
As we briefly reported in yesterday's video,
the Russians launched a large-scale attack by sending soldiers into an aggregates factory where the headquarters of the Ukrainian army was located.
However,
this was a trap set by the Ukrainian military,
and it appears that up to 400 Russian soldiers were isolated and about 30 were taken prisoner.
The Russian troops have been surrounded for the past two days and have made several attempts to break through from outside and inside the factory,
but have failed in each case,
and it appears that they are completely surrounded.
Under such circumstances,
the Ukrainian military has been attacking the factory with air strikes.
The Russian troops are currently receiving ammunition,
water,
and food from their friends by drone.
However,
they are unable to carry out the wounded,
and the troops are gradually being depleted,
and it appears that they will have to choose between surrender or extermination.
The battle map has been updated to show the extent of the plant from Ukrainian-controlled territory to disputed territory.
Northeast: toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
in the direction of ChasivYar
The following is a report on the situation in the area from Kupyansk to ChasivYar.
In this area,
the Russians attacked 10 times in Kupyansk,
9 times along the Svatovekremina line,
and also around Sibersk,
Rozhdorivka,
and ChasivYar.
Kupyansk area
According to the video with location data,
the Russians attacked from Berestove toward Pishchane,
and before they could reach the settlement,
the Ukrainian army returned fire,
resulting in a ground battle.
The image shows the 77th Air Mobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Army counting Russian soldiers in a Russian BMP infantry fighting vehicle near the location shown on the map.
ChasivYar area.
In this area,
Russian forces conducted attacks near Kalinivka,
Kanal,
Ivanivske,
and Klishchiivka.
Russian military bloggers report that the situation is difficult for Russian forces because Ukrainian troops control the highlands.
Is this a breakthrough in the war?
The Russian military is using chloropicrin,
which is banned under the Chemical Weapons Convention,
which Russia has ratified.
Chloropicrin is used in riot crimes and is considered a chemical similar in effect to tear gas,
which irritates the skin and eyes.
1st.
In Canal,
there is information that a Ukrainian military reconnaissance vehicle was destroyed by Russian forces while both sides were conducting drone strikes.
2nd.
In Ivanivske,
a convoy of Russian troops moving from Bakhmut was attacked by Ukrainian drones,
destroying three BMP infantry fighting vehicles,
one MTLB armored fighting vehicle,
one BTR armored fighting vehicle,
and one tank.
What you are seeing is the 5th Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army and the location shown on the map.
In the end,
the Russian attack in this sector was repulsed by the Ukrainian army,
and no information was available that would affect the battle map.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast.
The following is an update on the situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Velikanovosilka.
Avdiivka
In this sector the Russians made 17 attacks in various directions,
of which 5 were repulsed by the Ukrainian troops and 12 were in combat.
1st.
In Novo Oleksandrivka,
according to the positional video,
Russian troops advanced on the settlement and reached very close to the Ukrainian defensive line.
What you are seeing is from the Ukrainian side and shows Russian infantry fighting vehicles at the location indicated on the map.
The battle map has been updated to show the Russian forces occupying the disputed territory up to that point.
The key point is whether the Russian attack will stop at the defensive line in the future.
2nd.
In Sokir,
the battle map remains unchanged,
but Ukrainian forces are holding off repeated Russian attacks with settlements and ring positions.
Russian attacks are widespread and active,
extending to the northeastern and southeastern outskirts of Sokir,
and it appears that the Russians are pushing slightly,
closing the gap to the settlement.
Third.
In Novoselivka Persia,
heavy fighting is also taking place in the southeast direction where Ukrainian troops are advancing.
The Ukrainian army is aggressively attacking here,
but video footage with location information shows that a Ukrainian Maxpro anti-mine armored vehicle was damaged by a Russian drone attack at the location indicated on the map,
and the situation is tense.
4th.
Northwest of Netilove,
there is unconfirmed information that the Russians are expanding their occupation by about one field,
and the battle map has been updated as an expansion of the disputed area.
Marinka area
Russian troops made 20 attacks in this area.
In Heoryivka,
the two sides were engaged in an urban war,
with both sides fighting in close combat south of the center of the settlement,
with drones watching from the air and attacking the enemy.
Ground fighting is currently continuing in and around the factory.
There is no information affecting the battle map,
including this attack,
and the battle map remains unchanged.
Velikanovosilka area
There are no changes to the battle map in this sector,
but in Staromaiorsk,
a soldier of the Russian 127th Mechanized Infantry Division abandoned the front line and deserted.
According to information from social networking sites familiar with Russian paratroopers,
the unit was attached to the front line amidst a shortage of personnel and was unable to withstand the shelling of Ukrainian troops,
so they abandoned their positions and fled.
The article also reports that overall,
Russian soldiers are becoming scarce: BBBB
Rear Areas
There was a massive explosion at a gas storage facility in Saratov,
600 kilometers from the front lines,
with a column of fire and smoke that could be seen from several kilometers away.
The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time,
but according to the local Telegram channel,
residents heard the explosion.
BBBB
South,
Zaporizhia Province
South,
province of Kherson.
There have been reports of small-scale positional fighting in this sector,
but no information affecting the battle map.
Russian military supplies to this sector appear to be thin,
and Russian military bloggers report that Russian troops are unable to advance due to shortages of electronic warfare,
drones,
and mines.
A military blogger reporting on the situation in the Khrson area reported that most of the Russian troops on the front line were drunk and "attacking Krinky in a drunken state," and that "most of the dead were buying liquor from prostitutes and drinking it."
Miscellaneous
At the beginning of the peace summit,
which began today in Switzerland,
the heads of state made various statements,
with President Zelensky saying,
"There is no war-loving Russia here."
U.S.
Vice President Kamala Harris said,
"Putin is calling for his own surrender."
Estonian PM Karas made strong statements such as "We must not repeat the past and Russia's expansionist policy must end here.
Incidentally,
PM Kishida said,
"We will continue to support Ukraine in the Japanese way."
We will briefly report selected news about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter function to watch the necessary parts.
1st.
Ukrainian troops successfully attacked a Grad multi-rocket that was traveling 30 kilometers from the front line.
This is the longest distance ever covered by a drone attack.
The video shows the 43rd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces maneuvering the drone to avoid interference by Russian electronic warfare.
Longer distances mean more ways to relay radio signals and that much larger batteries are needed,
which means that the Ukrainian military's advanced drone technology and modern warfare are changing.
Second.
Former Air Force Colonel Viktor Alksnis,
famous for his strong criticism of reformist General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev and his political reform movement Perestroika at the end of the Soviet Union,
has drawn attention for his lengthy posts on social networking sites that the Russian Federation will collapse.
The Air Force colonel-turned-politician is famous for his "black colonel" role as the head of a faction that bitterly criticized General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev during the collapse of the Soviet Union.
After hearing President Putin's peace proposal yesterday,
he dismissed it,
saying,
"The terms of peace can only be determined by the winners,
but I hardly believe that Russia is a winner today," and complained about the current military defeat of the Russian military,
saying,
"It is painful and bitter to watch.
According to him,
Russia's only chance to win would have been in February 2022,
when it invaded Kyiv,
and "the blitzkrieg has failed miserably.
Looking ahead,
he said,
"We will no longer rush at full speed toward the catastrophe of 'the annihilation of Russia' and its subsequent breakup into dozens of small states," adding that "tens of millions of Russians will take it calmly.
Putin's peace proposal has also been criticized in Russia,
with Russian military officer and far-right military blogger General Gusenko describing it as "humiliating and painful."
3rd.
poll,
published on June 14,
found that 82% of Russian citizens living in cities and settlements smell bad odors and regularly experience strong odors.
According to the report,
21% of Russians said they experience continuous unpleasant odors,
10% said sometimes,
30% said several times a week,
and 21% said several times a month.
In Russia,
residential areas and factories are often located next to each other,
and experts say that "factories,
pig farms,
sewage treatment plants,
and landfills in cities and settlements emit hydrogen sulfide and other odors that cause bad smells,
but it is difficult to deal with them because they are all considered below the standard values.
That's all for today.
