The situation in Ukraine
It has been 689 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were
700 soldiers
5 tanks
15 armored combat vehicles
18 cannons
4 air defense systems
12 drones
26 other vehicles.
On the entire front,
64 ground battles were reported in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of Ukrainian equipment losses to Russian losses that can be visually confirmed is 1 to 8.0,
or eight times the number of losses on the Russian side compared to the Ukrainian side.
Civilian vans and infantry fighting vehicles accounted for more than half of Russian losses,
while Ukrainian losses show no trend.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you want.
1.
British Prime Minister Snake visited Kyiv and signed an agreement with Ukraine on security for the next 10 years.
It is important to note that we will provide Ukraine with 2.5 billion pounds (460 billion yen) of military aid per year,
The Prime Minister's visit to Ukraine at the same time as British troops are bombing the Houthis is a strong signal of Britain's commitment to both Ukraine and Israel.
At a joint press conference with President Zelensky,
Prime Minister Snake said,
"This will guarantee long-term British support and will be at the heart of our bilateral relationship for centuries to come.
We will make Russia pay for its aggression."
Second.
According to The Hill,
Congressional Democrats have rejected House Speaker Johnson's demand to strengthen the Mexican border as a condition for aid to Ukraine.
Although Democrats were initially willing to make concessions,
Johnson began attaching various conditions to aid to Ukraine and border security,
including a requirement that the war plan specify its objectives,
prompting criticism from Democrats.
In the end,
the Ukraine,
Israel,
and Taiwan appropriations measures were all postponed.
Chairman Johnson,
by the way,
respects former President Trump and is said to be very close to him in his thinking.
The U.S.
is not currently providing aid to Ukraine,
and President Biden has stressed to Congress the need to approve additional aid to Ukraine as soon as possible,
However,
no concrete action is expected in the near future.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
The following is a report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the Siversk area to Bakhmut.
In this sector the Russians attacked twice in Shinkivka,
six times in Terney,
and at least once in Bakhmut.
The Russians bombed Shinkivka,
Ivanivka,
Novoehorivka and Bohodanivka,
but these attacks were repulsed by the Ukrainian army and the Russians could not advance.
Svatove-Kreminna line
With the onset of winter and longer nights in Ukraine,
there is a belief that Ukrainian forces have an advantage because they are better equipped to fight at night and in cold weather.
According to the video with location data,
the Ukrainian army counterattacked and advanced east of Terny.
The Russian video shown here confirms that Ukrainian forces have established a position at the location shown on the battle map.
We have updated the battle map to show this location as retaken by Ukrainian forces from the contested area.
Around Bakhmut
Temperatures are also dropping in Bakhmut,
with lows of -18°C and highs of -10°C.
In Vashkivka,
north of Bakhmut,
mobilized soldiers were ordered to attack,
but since Vashkivka is a mortar-shaped area surrounded by high ground,
and Ukrainian troops are encircling the high ground,
the frightened mobilized soldiers refused to fight,
and instead Spetsnaz units of the 106th Airborne Division attacked Ukrainian positions.
Instead,
Spetsnaz units of the 106th Airborne Division attacked the Ukrainian positions and,
as expected,
were repulsed.
Southeast Donetsk region
Weather in Avdiivka is cloudy,
light snowfall.
The minimum temperature is -18 degrees Celsius,
the maximum is -8 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is for cloudy skies and light snow.
Here is an update on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka
In this sector,
the Russians attacked 10 times in Novovakumtivka,
Stepove,
and Avdiivka,
and 17 times in Pervomaiske and Neveleske.
According to the mayor of Barabash in Avdiivka,
the ground finally froze in the cold weather,
and the Russians launched armored vehicles and tanks to attack.
1.
Along the railroad west of Krasnohorivka,
Ukrainian troops use drones to scout Russian positions,
find and eliminate Russian troops.
Shown here is a tactical assessment from the Ukrainian side showing Russian forces operating in the snow on the west side of the railroad tracks.
As is customary on this platform,
we have selected the milder parts of the images and video for you.
The battle map remains unchanged.
Second.
At a water treatment plant south of the mine site known as Tellikon,
a Russian assault force has gathered and advanced south,
only to be repulsed by Ukrainian forces who wiped out the unit.
Based on the video footage and other information,
we have updated the battle map to show that the Russians have occupied part of the southern part of the processing plant and have expanded the area of conflict into the forests further south.
Other attack axes in Vodyane,
Pervomaiske,
and Neveleske were attacked more frequently,
but all Russian attacks were repelled by Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
The Marinka Sector
In this sector the Russians launched 13 attacks on Heolyivka,
Marinka and Novomihailivka.
In Marinka,
the Russians dropped thermobaric bombs on Ukrainian positions to the northwest,
and launched close air strikes in the direction of Heolyivka,
In Novomihailivka the battle map remained unchanged,
although there was a small battle for positions.
South,
Zaporizhia Province.
In this sector the Russians carried out three attacks in Verbove.
According to the video with location information,
the Russians launched an offensive along the road leading to the town,
attacked the Ukrainian positions at the location shown on the battle map,
and entered and occupied the positions after the Ukrainian troops withdrew.
What I am showing you is from the Russian side,
Russian paratroopers are entering the Ukrainian positions and checking inside.
We have updated the battle map of this area from Ukrainian recaptured territory to Russian occupied and contested territory.
The area is about 0.5 square kilometers.
The battle map remains unchanged,
although there is still some fighting near Robotyne and Nesteleyanka.
Southern Kherson Province
Due to bad weather,
the Russians did not launch any airstrikes that day.
They attacked Krinky three times,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces and the Russians were unable to advance.
1.
At Krinky,
the Russians attacked from the west with BMP infantry fighting vehicles and T72 tanks,
but were repulsed by the Ukrainians as usual.
Shown are the Russian vehicles stopped at the location on the battle map.
The battle map is unchanged.

The European Union has set out to remove Hungarian Prime Minister Orban's opposition to support for Ukraine.
The European Parliament,
led by Finnish lawmakers,
has collected the signatures of 120 lawmakers and will propose an agenda item to the European Parliament that would strip Prime Minister Orban of his voting rights.
According to the article,
after the European Parliament passes a resolution next month,
the European Council will discuss the removal of Orban's voting rights at the EU summit,
which will also be held next month.
The contributor has found out that if two hurdles,
the EU Parliament and the EU summit,
are cleared,
Orbán's voting rights will be suspended.
Article 7 of the EU treaty allows the EU summit to suspend the voting rights of a state that repeatedly violates the values of the European Union.
On the other hand,
Prime Minister Orbán has announced that he will run for the presidency of the EU summit to succeed Michel,
and a nervous game over support for Ukraine will continue for some time to come.
That's all for today.
Thanks for watching.
