Situation in Ukraine
It has been 864 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First of all,
general matters.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 1,260 soldiers
11 tanks
18 armored fighting vehicles
66 artillery guns
58 drones
9 cruise missiles
82 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 130 ground battles in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 5.2 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
Losses on the Russian side are mostly military trucks,
civilian vans,
tanks,
and infantry fighting vehicles; conversely,
there is no particular trend on the Ukrainian side.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
We will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes with the date if you use the full screen on the big screen.
Northeast,
toward Harkiv
This month's report focuses on the situation in the Halkiw area,
where the Russian military invaded across the border in May.
In this area,
the Russians launched 18 attacks,
14 of which were repulsed by the Ukrainian army,
and 4 of which are still ongoing ground battles.
Zolotiv area
As we reported yesterday,
Russian troops invaded the village of Kozachok,
45 km northwest of Harkiv,
on July 4.
Russian military bloggers report that the settlement has been overrun,
and Ukrainian military spokesman Povhov says they have identified the invading Russian units and are counter-attacking.
For now,
there is no change in the battle map.
Vovtyansk area.
Perhaps because they knew that there was no end in sight after yesterday's arrest of the brigade's head,
the Russians have attacked heavily in Vovtyansk.
1st.
Russian troops are fighting an urban battle in a high-rise apartment building along Sobolna Street,
launching more than 60 multiple rockets just west of the Bohucha River and east of the aggregate plant that can be seen,
while blocking the movement of Ukrainian troops.
According to the video with location information,
the Russian troops have managed to reach the high-rise apartment building shown on the map after evading Ukrainian drone strikes and artillery fire.
The image you are seeing is from the 57th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
which is using a vampire drone to observe Russian soldiers in a high-rise apartment building next to the location shown on the map.
So far there are no changes to the battle map.
Second.
At the aggregate plant,
multiple reports indicate that the besieged Russian soldiers are huddled together in a building on the west side of the building.
According to a few Russian-friendly sources,
the encirclement has been lifted and the Russian troops on the west side are able to come and go,
but from the location of the artillery fire from both sides and the position of the drone strikes,
it can be assumed that the Ukrainian troops are opening and closing a section of the park and targeting Russian soldiers who are trying to get through.
Northeast,
toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
in the direction of ChasivYar
The following is an update on the situation in the area from Kupyansk to ChasivYar.
In this area,
the Russians attacked 4 times in the direction of Kupyansk,
13 times along the Svatove-Kreminna line,
8 times around Sivelsk,
14 times around ChasivYar,
and 18 times in the direction of Toretsk,
but the Ukrainian forces were repulsed except in the direction of Toretsk,
which will be reported later,
leaving no change in the battle map.
There was no change in the war situation.
Toretsk direction
In this direction,
both sides are attacking.
Stanislav of the 95th Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army told military expert Sugrets,
"The enemy is advancing with infantry and not using equipment,
and they are constantly attacking us from all directions for 24 hours.
The enemy losses were very heavy,
but they had mobilized a large number of troops from the occupied areas and had accumulated a large number of forces.
The enemy has an advantage in numbers of men,
artillery,
and air strikes," he said,
explaining the situation on the front lines.
1st.
From Mayorsk to Druzhba,
the Russians are conducting an infantry assault along the railroad line,
while the Ukrainians are using tank artillery and BTR infantry fighting vehicle machine guns to destroy houses with Russian soldiers,
and drones to neutralize the Russian soldiers outside.
The image you are seeing is from the Ukrainian side,
and shows the location indicated on the map.
The Russian attack is continuing,
but the Ukrainian forces are attacking with multiple vehicles,
and the battle map has not changed since June 23.
2nd.
Urban warfare is also continuing in the Artemove area,
but there is no change in the battle map here.
3rd.
In the area of Niuyoke,
we can see Russian soldiers throwing anti-tank mines into the houses shown on the map,
and blowing up the houses with themselves as collateral damage,
which confirms that the front line is here.
The Russian soldiers are slowly approaching the house,
throwing something into the air and trying to escape.
We have updated the battle map to show that the Russians have occupied the area in front of this location.
The area is about 8 square kilometers.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast.
The following is an update on the war situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Velikanovosilka.
The weather in Avdiivka,
which affects the operation,
is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is 20 degrees Celsius,
the maximum 37 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is for clear skies.
Avdiivka area
In this sector,
the Russians launched 33 attacks in various directions,
23 were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and 10 ground battles continued,
but the Ukrainian forces defended themselves and the battle map remained unchanged.
Ground fighting continued to focus on Novo Oleksandrivka,
Sokir,
Evhenivka,
Umanske,
and Karlivka.
Of these,
Evhenivka in particular is likely to be advanced by Russian forces to the north,
east,
and south,
and the Ukrainian forces are expected to withdraw to the defensive line as the urban area has become a projection area.
Marinka direction
Berkanovo Syrka area
Russian forces made 10 attacks in the Marinka sector and 7 attacks in the Verkhanovosyrka sector,
but there was no information that would affect the battle map in this sector.
Rear Area
1st.
Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Nejupapa told Reuters that the Russian Black Sea Fleet has withdrawn almost all of its combat ships from Crimea and Sevastopol has been nearly neutralized.
He also revealed that so far Ukrainian forces have destroyed or damaged 27 ships,
five of which were destroyed by mines laid by surface drones.
Second.
An explosion on the Trans-Siberian Railway outside Yekaterinburg,
east of Russia's Urals,
stranded a train carrying ammunition from North Korea.
Partisan organization Atesh posted on social networking sites,
showing smoke rising from the explosion site and a map.
3rd.
In Rostov,
there was information about a fire caused by a drone attack at an oil terminal; a Russian Mi28 helicopter attempting to shoot down the drone hit the drone,
and the helicopter apparently caught fire and made an emergency landing,
but 600 square meters of the surrounding area was engulfed in fire.
According to nearby farmers,
the burned helicopter was found in the middle of a field,
but no occupants were found.
Southern Province of Zaporizhia
South,
province of Kherson.
In this sector,
the Russians attacked twice in and around Robotyne and twice in Krinky,
but were all repulsed by Ukrainian forces.
1st.
The first of these attacks was carried out in Novakakhovka,
in Helleson,
where a Ukrainian drone strike destroyed the command post of Russian unit 41600,
wounded two Russian soldiers,
and destroyed radio communication facilities.
2nd.
Also along the Dnipro River,
the location is unknown,
but there is information that an island occupied by Russian troops is on fire and Russian soldiers are being evacuated.
In the video,
the fire is spreading and the entire area is engulfed in flames.
The cause of the fire is unknown,
but it is possible that the fire may have been caused by artillery fire.
This is a brief report with selected news about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you need to.
1st.
German Ambassador Jaeger announced that Patriot air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine from Germany and that training for Ukrainian soldiers has been successfully completed.
The ambassador reported that "this is the third set of Patriot air defense systems to arrive in Ukraine from Germany."
The New York Times also reported that European countries are providing missiles,
fire control systems,
launchers,
and radars bit by bit,
which will be gathered together to create the Patriot air defense system and sent to Ukraine.
Details are likely to be announced at a NATO summit next week,
according to the report.
Second.
NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg held a press conference in Washington,
D.C.,
warning against the Minsk 3.
Minsk 3 is a term used to refer to the peace agreement,
and to explain a little,
the past ceasefire agreements in the Donbass conflict were called No.
1 and No.
2 for convenience,
with Minsk 1 being the protocol agreed to by Ukraine,
Russia and militia groups in 2014 to stop the war in Donbass,
and Minsk 2 being the protocol agreed to the following year between Russia and Ukraine through French and German mediation.
Minsk 2 refers to the ceasefire agreement on the war in the Donbass agreed to by Russia and Ukraine the following year through the mediation of France and Germany.
Secretary-General Stoltenberg was asked by a reporter,
"Are you determined enough to rebound from the pressure to force Ukraine into peace talks?" He responded,
"Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014 and further expanded its occupation to the west after Minsk 1 in September of the same year.
We agreed to a ceasefire in Minsk 2 in February 2015,
however Russia occupied more territory seven years later.
We cannot allow Minsk III," he stressed.
Bearing in mind that Russia is thus using the peace agreement to restore its depleted forces,
the Secretary-General said that "there is a link between the battlefield and peace negotiations," suggesting that increased military support for Ukraine is likely to be announced at this NATO summit.
Third.
Russia,
which is significantly over budget for warfare expenses,
reportedly has created and begun operating a "mechanism to confiscate property from asset owners," according to the Moscow Times.
This method has already resulted in the confiscation of the property of five wealthy individuals,
generating billions to tens of billions of rubles in state revenue.
The mechanism is that the prosecutors first request the targeted asset owners to request the court to certify them as "extremists," and then the court certifies them and confiscates their assets.
As we reported in a previous video,
on the 3rd of this month,
the Tampov District Court declared the owner of a vodka company an "extremist" and subsequently confiscated his shares in a vodka distillery and affiliated companies in Tampov.
The day before,
a confectionery factory in Lipetsk was similarly seized and more than 130 million related shares were transferred to the state.
The owner of Smolensky Bank was also identified as an extremist,
and his shares,
real estate,
and other assets worth more than 6 billion rubles were confiscated.
In another case,
journalist Nevzorov was also declared a militant,
and his house,
car,
and company were seized,
making it impossible for him to work as a journalist.
That's all for today.
