ロシア国防省は、今週初めに占領されたドンバスの都市ウグルダルで、数十人のウクライナ軍が降伏したと発表した。

金曜日に発表された声明の中で、同省は、過去1週間で、83人ものウクライナ軍が前線全域で降伏したと述べた。 また、ウグルダルでの「掃討作戦」中に44人が投降したという。

Varias decenas de soldados ucranianos se han rendido en la ciudad de Ugledar, en el Donbass, capturada a principios de esta semana, informó el Ministerio de Defensa de Rusia.

En un comunicado emitido el viernes, el ministerio dijo que hasta 83 tropas ucranianas se rindieron a lo largo de la línea del frente durante la semana pasada, sin proporcionar detalles sobre las circunstancias. Las autoridades añadieron que 44 se rindieron durante la "operación de limpieza" en Ugledar.

La ciudad, fuertemente fortificada en el sector meridional del frente, era uno de los pilares de las defensas ucranianas en la zona, donde se libraban combates desde agosto de 2022. Ugledar también se asienta sobre una colina y está formada casi en su totalidad por edificios altos de hormigón, lo que permite controlar con fuego el terreno circundante.

El miércoles, TASS informó, citando fuentes, de que algunas unidades ucranianas en Ugledar sufrieron "enormes pérdidas" tras no poder salir de la ciudad a tiempo.

El jueves, el Ministerio de Defensa confirmó que la ciudad había sido capturada, diciendo después que las fuerzas rusas habían tomado en general posiciones "más ventajosas" en ese sector del frente.

Several dozen Ukrainian troops have surrendered in the Donbass city of Ugledar, which was captured earlier this week, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.

In a statement on Friday, the ministry said that as many as 83 Ukrainian troops surrendered across the front line over the past week, without providing details on the circumstances. Officials added that 44 surrendered during the “mop-up operation” in Ugledar.

The heavily fortified town in the southern sector of the front was a linchpin of Ukrainian defenses in the area, with fighting raging there since August 2022. Ugledar also sits on a hill and consists almost entirely of high-rise concrete buildings, allowing for fire control of the surrounding terrain.

On Wednesday, TASS reported, citing sources, that some Ukrainian units in Ugledar suffered “huge losses” after failing to get out of the town in time.

On Thursday, the Defense Ministry confirmed that the city was captured, later saying that Russian forces have generally taken “more advantageous” positions in that sector of the front.
