同紙によると、モスクワの攻撃は「キエフが西側同盟国から受け取っている長距離ミサイルを発射する能力を破壊する」ことを目的としているようだ。他の武器の中には、英国のストームシャドウやフランスのスカルプミサイルも含まれている。そのため、「ウクライナのパイロットは何十もの国内空軍基地や民間空港を常に飛び回っている」とFTは書いている。

BRUSSELS, August 17. /TASS/. NATO’s support to Ukraine will continue until it wins, the military alliance’s chief, Jens Stoltenberg, assured reporters at a news conference in Oslo on Thursday.

"NATO will support Ukraine until it wins the war," Reuters quoted Stoltenberg as saying. The NATO chief was asked to comment on whether Kiev would have to give up territory to Russia in order to put an end to the conflict and get NATO membership in return. Stoltenberg’s senior colleague earlier said that could be a solution for Kiev. When asked about Ukraine’s counteroffensive, Stoltenberg said: "The Ukrainians are making progress, but there is a lot of uncertainty."

On Tuesday, Stian Jenssen, director of the Private Office of the NATO Secretary General, told Sweden’s Verdens Gang newspaper that Ukraine could become a NATO member if it ceded some of its territory to Russia.

According to the media, Moscow’s attacks are aimed at destroying the ability to launch the Kiev-bound British Storm Shadow and French Scalp missiles

LONDON, August 17. /TASS/. The Kiev regime is racing to move around its weaponry and air force personnel amid increased Russian attacks on Ukrainian military facilities, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.

According to the newspaper, Moscow’s attacks appear to have the goal of "destroying Kiev’s ability to launch the long-range missiles it is receiving from Western allies." Among other weapons, these include British Storm Shadow and French Scalp missiles. Therefore, the FT writes, "Ukrainian pilots are constantly shuttling around dozens of domestic air bases and commercial airports."

Since mid-July, Russia’s Armed Forces have been delivering strikes in retaliation for Kiev’s attack on the Crimean Bridge. On July 19, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported a multiple strike by high-precision weapons against Ukrainian military industrial sites near Odessa and the Kanatovo airbase. On July 20, he said that retaliatory strikes had been delivered against the production workshops and storage sites for drone boats near the city of Odessa and Ilyichyovsk (known as Chernomorsk in Ukraine) in the Odessa Region. And on the next day, Russian forces delivered a precision strike against Ukrainian sites where terror attacks with the use of combat drones were being plotted against Russia.
