米国と英国は全面戦争に突き進む

イランとイスラエルの衝突は、欧米の指導者たちが再びエスカレートするきっかけとなった。

ここ数週間の出来事は、西側政治に突然の衝撃をもたらした。ウクライナ紛争をめぐって米国や西側の言説に忍び寄り始めていた無気力状態から、イランのイスラエル攻撃は突然、ロナルド・レーガンを墓から目覚めさせ、大西洋の両側でステロイドのような新保守主義を急増させる効果をもたらしたようだ。

米国のマイク・ジョンソン下院議長は、180度方向転換し、"悪の枢軸"を非難しながら、何カ月も阻止してきた天文学的な海外支出のための一連の援助法案を可決し、自らを "レーガン共和党員"と宣言した。それとともに、TikTok禁止法案も突如として提出され、すぐに署名された。

リシ・スナク首相は「権威主義国家の枢軸」を警告し、イデオロギー的に戦闘的なレトリックを増幅させた。同時に、バイデンがエスカレートを恐れて、何年もそうしないと約束していたにもかかわらず、300kmの長距離ミサイルATACMSをウクライナに送ったことが明らかになった。最後に、EUのウルスラ・フォン・デア・ライエン大統領は突然、中国に対する経済戦争を劇的に激化させ、欧州委員会に中国の輸出品に対する調査を開始させた。これはいったいどこから来たのだろうか？

米国とその同盟国は、ウクライナでの戦争やイスラエルのガザ侵攻など、国民の支持を失いつつある一連の目標を「白紙化」し、二番煎じにするために、イランとイスラエルの緊張を利用したかのようだ。ダマスカスにあるイランの施設をイスラエルが攻撃し、テヘランの反発を招いたのは、この目的のために意図的に演出され、調整され、計画されたのではないかと疑わざるを得ない。ネタニヤフ首相と西側諸国の政府が、そうでなければ直面したどんな反対にも屈しないという、互いに都合のいい目的を果たしたのだ。

ロンドンとワシントンの現在の権力者たちは、自分たちが引き起こした戦争の手を緩めるつもりはまったくなく、一方で中国との第3の戦争の可能性も推し進め、たとえイスラエル・ガザ戦争が西側の道徳的優位の主張を打ち砕くものであったとしても、その結果には無関心であるように見える。いずれの場合も、利害は非常に大きく、欧米の外交政策全般は、覇権の喪失を嘆き、それを何としても維持しようとする、非常にゼロサム的でイデオロギー的な性格を帯びている。世界を改善するビジョンを持たず、世界を以前の状態に戻そうとする反動的なものだ。生まれつつある多極化を抑圧しようとするのは、権利意識と特権意識である。

このため、欧米の指導者たちは、それぞれの舞台で妥協という概念を考慮することは不可能となり、戦略的とみなされるような譲歩をすることをいかなる状況でも拒否している。その結果、ウクライナでは「プーチンの敗北」しか認めないという立場になり、それ以来、微妙にエスカレートしている。NATOの軍事顧問団はすでに現地入りしており、ウクライナの攻撃はNATOの情報によって誘導され、あるいはイギリスの提督たちによって調整されている。

西側諸国、特に英国のメディアは（米国ではもっと異論がある）、事実上戦争モードに入っている。BBCはウクライナのプロパガンダをノンストップで増幅し、経験的な価値や証拠に関係なく、キエフを助けるような主張を押し付けている。交渉のシナリオを検討するよりも、ロシアとの全面戦争に踏み切るという決断を下した可能性があることは明らかだ。こうして、イラン・イスラエル間の武勇伝の衝撃は、あらゆる面で新たなエスカレーションを突発的に追求するために利用された。

このため、世界は第二次世界大戦後のどの時点よりも危険で不確実な見通しに直面していると言っていい。現在の西側諸国の指導者たちは、冷戦時代に見られたような抑制的で計算高い考え方ではなく、安定を好まず、覇権主義を絶対的な権利として肯定する攻撃的で伝道的な考え方を追求している。このため、西側の指導者たちは本当に戦争を避けようとしているのではなく、必要であれば戦争を受け入れる用意があるという結論を導き出すべきである。英国の軍部組織とメディアは、長い間徴兵制について騒いできた。米国では、ジョー・バイデンが再選を果たせば、あらゆる面でエスカレートしていくだろう。第三次世界大戦は、もはや空想上のパニック劇ではなく、否定できない現実の可能性なのである。

Los acontecimientos de las últimas semanas han producido una brusca sacudida en la política occidental. De un letargo que empezaba a deslizarse en el discurso estadounidense y occidental sobre la guerra de Ucrania, el ataque de Irán contra Israel parece haber tenido de repente el efecto de despertar a Ronald Reagan de su tumba y provocar una oleada de neoconservadurismo con esteroides, a ambos lados del Atlántico.

El presidente de la Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos, Mike Johnson, dio un giro de 180 grados y se proclamó "republicano de Reagan" aprobando una serie de proyectos de ley de ayuda para gastos astronómicos en el extranjero que, por lo demás, había bloqueado durante meses, mientras denunciaba un "eje del mal". Junto con eso, un proyecto de ley de prohibición de TikTok también surgió de la nada y fue rápidamente convertido en ley.

Después, el Reino Unido decidió dedicar a Ucrania el mayor paquete de ayuda de su historia, con el Primer Ministro Rishi Sunak advirtiendo de un "eje de Estados autoritarios" y amplificando la retórica ideológicamente combativa. Al mismo tiempo, se reveló entonces que Biden había enviado misiles ATACMS de largo alcance de 300 km a Ucrania, a pesar de haber prometido no hacerlo durante años, por temor a una escalada. Por último, la presidenta de la UE, Ursula von der Leyen, ha incrementado repentinamente la guerra económica contra China, empujando a la Comisión Europea a abrir sondeos sobre decenas de exportaciones chinas. ¿De dónde viene exactamente todo esto?

Es casi como si Estados Unidos y sus aliados aprovecharan las tensiones entre Irán e Israel para "blanquear" su pizarra y redoblar una serie de objetivos para los que, de otro modo, están perdiendo el apoyo público, incluida la guerra en Ucrania, pero también la invasión israelí de Gaza. Uno tiene que preguntarse si el ataque israelí contra el complejo iraní en Damasco, que provocó la respuesta de Teherán, fue deliberadamente organizado, coordinado y planificado con este fin. Sirvió al objetivo mutuamente conveniente de liberar tanto al primer ministro Netanyahu como a los gobiernos occidentales de cualquier oposición a la que se hubieran enfrentado de otro modo.

Ahora debería estar muy claro que las actuales potencias, en Londres y Washington, no tienen ninguna intención de cejar en las guerras que han provocado, al tiempo que presionan para una posible tercera con China, y parecen indiferentes a las consecuencias, incluso si, por ejemplo, la guerra entre Israel y Gaza está haciendo añicos las pretensiones de superioridad moral de Occidente. En cada caso, lo que está en juego es muy importante, la política exterior occidental en general ha adquirido un carácter muy de suma cero e ideológico que lamenta la pérdida de hegemonía y trata de mantenerla a toda costa. Es reaccionaria en la medida en que no tiene una visión para mejorar el mundo, sino que quiere volver a dejarlo como estaba. Es un sentimiento de derecho y privilegio que quiere suprimir una multipolaridad emergente.

Por ello, a los dirigentes occidentales les resulta imposible plantearse jamás el concepto de compromiso en estos respectivos escenarios, y se niegan bajo cualquier circunstancia a hacer concesiones que puedan considerarse estratégicas. Esto ha dado lugar a una posición en la que el único resultado que están dispuestos a aceptar en Ucrania es lo que consideran "la derrota de Putin", y han estado escalando sutilmente desde entonces, acercándose cada vez más al punto en el que una "guerra por poderes" se convierte en una guerra directa a todos los efectos. Los asesores militares de la OTAN ya están sobre el terreno, y los ataques ucranianos están siendo guiados por la inteligencia de la OTAN o incluso coordinados por almirantes británicos.

Los medios de comunicación en Occidente, especialmente en Gran Bretaña (hay más disidencia en Estados Unidos) están efectivamente en modo de guerra. La BBC amplifica sin parar la propaganda sobre Ucrania, impulsando cualquier afirmación que ayude a Kiev independientemente de su valor empírico o de las pruebas, y todas las voces disidentes han sido acalladas. Parece evidente que se ha tomado la decisión de arriesgarse a una guerra total con Rusia, en lugar de considerar cualquier escenario de negociación. Así, las ondas de choque de la saga Irán-Israel se han utilizado para perseguir una nueva y repentina ronda de escalada en todos los frentes, que sólo puede haber sido reforzada por las elecciones que se avecinan tanto en EE.UU. como en el Reino Unido.

Por todo ello, es justo decir que el mundo se enfrenta a un panorama más peligroso e incierto que en ningún otro momento desde el final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La actual generación de líderes occidentales no persigue una mentalidad más comedida y calculada, como se vio durante la mayor parte de la Guerra Fría, sino una agresiva y evangelizadora que no prefiere la estabilidad sino que afirma la hegemonía como un derecho absoluto, asemejándose así más a un mundo anterior a 1914. Por todo ello, debemos sacar la conclusión de que los dirigentes occidentales no buscan realmente evitar la guerra, sino que están dispuestos a aceptarla si es necesario. El estamento militar británico y los medios de comunicación llevan mucho tiempo haciendo ruido sobre el servicio militar obligatorio. En Estados Unidos, si Joe Biden gana la reelección, podemos suponer que escalará sin paliativos en todos los frentes. La Tercera Guerra Mundial ya no es un espectro dramatizado de pánico inverosímil, sino una posibilidad real que no debe descartarse.

The US and the UK are pushing for total war on all fronts

The Iran-Israel clash has served as a catalyst for renewed escalation by Western leaders, and World War III cannot be ruled out

The events of recent weeks have produced a sudden jolt in Western politics. From a lethargy that was starting to creep into US and western discourse over the Ukraine war, Iran’s attack on Israel suddenly seemed to have had the effect of awakening Ronald Reagan from his grave and leading to a surge of neo-conservativism on steroids, on both sides of the Atlantic.

US House Speaker Mike Johnson did a complete 180-degree U-turn and proclaimed himself a “Reagan Republican” passing a series of aid bills for astronomical overseas spending that he had otherwise blocked for months, as he denounced an “axis of evil.” Along with that, a proposed TikTok ban bill came out of nowhere too and was quickly signed into law.

Then the UK decided to devote its largest ever aid package to Ukraine, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak warning of an “axis of authoritarian states” and amplifying ideologically combative rhetoric. At the same time, it was then revealed Biden had sent 300km long range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine despite having pledged not to do so for years, fearing escalation. Finally, EU President Ursula von der Leyen has suddenly dramatically increased economic warfare on China, pushing the European Commission to open probes on scores of Chinese exports. Where exactly did all this come from?

It’s almost as if the US and its allies seized upon the tensions between Iran and Israel in order to “whitewash” their slate and double down on a series of objectives they are otherwise losing public support for, including the war in Ukraine, but also Israel’s invasion of Gaza. One has to wonder if the Israeli attack on the Iranian compound in Damascus, which provoked Tehran’s response, was deliberately staged, coordinated and planned for this purpose. It served the mutually convenient goal of letting both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Western governments off the hook for whatever opposition they had otherwise faced.

It should be abundantly clear now that the current powers that be, in London and Washington, have absolutely no intent of letting up on the wars they have provoked, while also pushing for a potential third one with China, and seem indifferent to the consequences, even if for example, the Israel-Gaza war is shattering the West’s claims of moral superiority. In each case, the stakes are very high, Western foreign policy at large has taken on a very zero-sum and ideological character which bemoans the loss of hegemony, and seeks to uphold it at all costs. It is reactionary to the extent it does not have a vision for improving the world, but wants to take back the world to the way it was. It is a sense of entitlement and privilege that wants to suppress an emerging multipolarity.

Because of this, it has become impossible for Western leaders to ever consider the concept of compromise in these respective theaters, and they refuse under any circumstances to make concessions which could be deemed strategic. This has produced a position where the only outcome they are willing to accept in Ukraine is what they deem “the defeat of Putin,” and have been subtly escalating ever since, edging ever closer to the point where a “proxy war” becomes a direct one for all intents and purposes. NATO military advisors are already on the ground, and Ukrainian attacks are being guided by NATO intelligence or even coordinated by British admirals.

The media in the West, especially in Britain (there is more dissent in the US) are effectively in war mode. The BBC amplifies non-stop Ukraine propaganda, pushing any claim that will help Kiev irrespective of its empirical worth or evidence, and all voices of dissent have been shut down. It seems evident that the decision may have been made to risk a full-on war with Russia, rather than to consider any negotiation scenario. Thus, the shockwaves from the Iran-Israel saga have been used to pursue a new and sudden round of escalation on every front, which can have only been bolstered by the prospective elections looming in both the US and UK.

Because of this, it is fair to say that the world faces a more dangerous and uncertain outlook than at any point since the end of World War II. This current crop of Western leaders are not pursuing a more restrained and calculated mindset, as seen for most of the Cold War, but an aggressive and evangelistic one that does not prefer stability but affirms hegemony as an absolute right, thus more resembling a pre-1914 world. Because of this, we should draw the conclusion that Western leaders are not truly seeking to avoid war, but are prepared to embrace it if necessary. The British military establishment and the media have long been making noises about conscription. In the US, if Joe Biden wins re-election, we can assume that he will unapologetically escalate on every single front. World War III is no longer a dramatized specter of farfetched panic, but an actual possibility that should not be ruled out.
