【En ver.】Take the subway cars of temporary driving bound for the Odakyu Shinjuku

2022/6/29

When I was heading to Shinjuku on the Odakyu Line express train, I found a Tokyo Metro (subway) 16000 series with a destination display for Shinjuku at Kyodo Station.
The subway Chiyoda Line and the Odakyu Line are running each other's lines.
JR's E233 series and Tokyo Metro's 16000 series do not normally enter the line between Yoyogi-Uehara and Shinjuku because enter the Chiyoda Line from the middle, but they sometimes enter the line when the timetable is disrupted.

The Odakyu Line route map. Kyodo (OH-11) is eleven stations from Shinjuku station (OH-01).

On my way home today. I had time to spare, so I changed from the express train and decided to take the train from Kyodo to Shinjuku.

Inside car guidance. Feeling uncomfortable with guidance "bound for the Shinjuku".

I felt feeling uncomfortable with guidance "bound for the Shinjuku".
However, the section which is always running every day that runs as a local train until Yoyogi Uehara, so it feels especially normal except for the destination.

Yoyogi Uehara Station. Entered platform 4 in the direction of Shinjuku.

The train arrives at Yoyogi Uehara station. Here the train entered platform 4.
At Yoyogi-Uehara Station, Platforms 2 and 3 are for the Chiyoda Line for Ayase, and Platforms 1 and 4 are for the Odakyu Line for Shinjuku.
As soon as you leave Yoyogi-Uehara Station, the tracks for the Chiyoda Line begin to descend underground, so there is no connecting line for Shinjuku, so you cannot run from Platform 3 to Shinjuku or from Platform 4 to Ayase.

In other words, the 16000 series does not normally enter platform 4, so it is rare status.
While the train was stopped, the conductor repeatedly announced that this train would not go to the Chiyoda Line because some people judge where to go by train kinds (painting of color)...

And this train is changed train type from local train to an express train from here.
After passing all the stations on the way to Shinjuku Station, the next stop is the Shinjuku terminal.

The guidance in the car was changed too. Displayed the first departure of Yoyogi Uehara.

I don't have a picture, but I passed an E233 series deadhead train on the Sangu Bridge.
Like this train, it must have been operated as a line for Shinjuku.
Their extra trains are operated only bound for the Shinjuku, it will not be operated on the return and will be forwarded.

Arrived at Shinjuku station. Enter the underground platform where local trains arrive and depart.

The train arrived at Shinjuku Station on an underground platform where local trains usually arrive and depart.
The ground platform where the high-class trains arrive and depart is always arriving and departing so there is no room for the extra train, most of these trains arrive at the underground platform.
Basically, only local trains depart from and arrive at the underground platform, and during the daytime only platforms 9 and 10 (platform 10 is for getting off) are used, so platforms 7 and 8 (platform 7 Platforms for getting off the train) are mostly vacant.
These vacancies are very useful when the timetable is disrupted...
Some of the high-class trains (for the Shinjuku) during the morning rush hour and tour group trains also depart from and arrive at the underground platform.

The return will wait for departure as a forwarding train.

It's strange to see the subway Chiyoda Line cars parked at Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line...
At the time when the evening rush hour is just around the corner, some people were taking pictures while passing by out of curiosity.
