K-STAR 2024

What's the K-STAR?

• K-STAR is a speedrun event focused on the Kirby series!

• Japanese and overseas competitors will be divided into teams and compete in a relay race!

• We hope that players from all over the world will come together through this event and make the Kirby series speedrun even more exciting!

• Nintendo is not a sponsor of or affiliated with this event.

Eligibility for Participation

• person capable of broadcasting in such as nicolive, Twitch, and YouTube

• person capable of using Discord (We send the information of the relay in Discord basically)

• These estimations are just estimations.

• Next runner was late because last runner finish earlier than estimation several times in the previous relay.

• We want to avoid it, so we estimate tightly.

• There is no penalty if the runner can't finish earlier than estimation.

Common Rules

• Rank of teams is determined by actual time.

• Rank of each games is determined by runners own timer.

• Language, Version and Hardware of Games is no object.

• When runners finish, they has to leave message in Discord team channel. Next runner has to see the message before he/she starts.

• As a general rule, emulator is banned. If you want to use, please tell us.

Rules of Each Games

1. Kirby's Dream Land

Normal Mode
Start: pressing the Start button on the title screen
End: final hit on King Dedede
The use of Config Mode is not allowed.

2. Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble

Any%
Start: file select
End: the post-Dedede text ("And so a starry night sky...") fades out

3. Kirby's Dream Land 2

Best Ending
Start: selecting a file
End: final hit on Dark Matter

4. Kirby's Super Star Stacker

Round Clear (Very Hard)
Start: runner presses 'Start' on chosen difficulty
End: the screen scrolls up to the top of the screen

5. Kirby: Star Allies

Any%
Start: "Story Mode" select
End: the beam shooting through Void Termina
Use of multiple player-controlled characters (i.e. 2P, etc.) is banned.
Runs must be done with the latest version (currently ver. 4.0.0).
Amiibo is banned.

6. Kirby's Epic Yarn

Any% (1P)
Start: file select
End: tank Kirby goes fully through the yarn stick after the final Yin-Yarn fight
2P is banned.
Create save data to prevent accidents.

7. Kirby and the Forgotten Land

All Treasure Roads (No Buffs)
Start: selecting START on your first Treasure Road
End: the frame Kirby collects the rare stone in the final Treasure Road
Beat all 57 treasure road stages.
Please clear them in order starting from World 1. The order of clearing within the same World is free.

8. Kirby's Dream Course

Normal Courses - Any Medals
Start: 'OK' on drawing screen
End: last hit on Dedede

9. Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Any%
Start: 1 player select
End: the last hit on Dark Mind

10. Kirby Fighters 2

Story Mode Chapter1-4
Start: pressing A on "Story Mode"
End: the last hit on Dedede & Meta Knight
2P is banned.

11. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe

100% Story Mode (Restricted)
Start: selecting Story Mode
End: the final hit of Magolor
Beat Story Mode as fast as possible while collect all 120 energy spheres and completing all of the ability challenges.
2P and Amiibo are banned.

12. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe

Magolor Epilogue Any%
Start: confirming yes when starting a new game
End: final frame of input
Using Multiple Controllers (Not Multiple Players) is allowed, Amiibo is banned.
Death Abuse is banned. If you have death abuse enabled, a cutscene that will normally play before a boss fight will not play but the fight will still start, which commonly happens if you quit out after dying to a boss then start another run. Defeating the boss will revert this, so do that before starting another run.

13. Kirby Air Ride

City Trial Any%
Start: selecting "City Trial" mode from the main menu
End: awarded the "Fill in 100 Checklist blocks" checkbox
Console must be started without memory card, or all save data must be cleared in Options before starting this run.
Use of purple free checklist fillers is allowed.
Use of multiple controllers is allowed; however, only the single runner can operate them.

14. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Start: file select
End: the last hit on 0²
Cheat codes are not allowed.
