WarhammerOnlineだいすき HighElf 1
わけあって※HighElfのスタートからストーリーを追ってみる。が、ちょっと試してみたら膨大な作業量だったので、何となく流れが見えてくるだろう、というあたりまで頑張るつもりではあるが最後まで追える気はしていない。です。
※Destro側、12キャラ全部RR50以上で誰が何のクエストやっててやってないのかもはっきりしないので、（汚らわしいが我慢して）Ekrundのスタート地点辺りの地図採取のために作ったOrder側のキャラを使って見ていく。
TheBlightedIsle
HighElf Chapter1: Moonrise Tower
スタート地点（右下マップの緑三角）。
エリア名はMoonrise Forest。地図上のアイコンにある名前・・便宜上拠点名と呼ぶことにして、拠点名はHighElfのChapter1、Moonrise Tower。
このエリアに入ることで（つまりここスタートの仕様の時はログインすればいきなり）HighElfのストーリーのPROLOGUEがアンロックしてTomeOfKnowledge(ToK)というゲーム内の書物にアンロックした内容が記録されていく。
建物（Tower)の脇っちょにHEROのGaloran Surewindさんがいる。
反対側の脇っちょにはアンロックアイテムと思しき本 "A Dusty Old Tome"がベンチの上に置かれていて、クリックすると "ELTHARIN, LANGUAGE OF THE HIGH ELVES" というのがアンロックする・・・
そのすぐ左手にも何かフラスコが落ちていて、クリックするとPrecious Flask というのがアンロックする。
そして目の前の祭壇に何か高そうな鎧を着た人が横たわっていて「Calumel Survivor」が祈りを捧げるように跪き、両脇には「Spirit Seer Vyrion」と「Galiel Mournfire」さんが立っている。2人はCHAMPION。
※手前真ん中のハゲは自キャラ。
さらにお店と訓練所的なものがあって・・・Eredicanさん、Lyndriel Flameleafさん、Calilyn Clearspringさんが並んでいる。適当なNPC名なのか、知っていれば「おお！あのEredicanがこんなところで店番を！！」となるのか。それはまだわからない。
いわゆる「最初にクエストくれるNPC」がその向かいにいる。この中身をこなしながら追っていくが、まずPROLOGUEの中身を確認しておく。
ちなみにこのNPCのすぐ横にクリックでOpenRvRエリアの入り口までワープできるドワーフ様式のヘリコプターがあるが、昔はそんなのなかったはず。

PROLOGUE High Elf
HIGH ELF
Prince Tyrion looked out to sea and did the same thing he had done day after day, and week after week. He watched, and he waited.
The sun hung low on the western horizon, spilling blood-red light across the waves. The twilight sky above was deepening to purple, and the first silver stars of night were winking into view.
They were out there. They were coming. Even at this distance, he could feel their hatred. It was oppressive, almost overwhelming.
A chill wind from the west whipped long strands of golden hair about his face. His white cloak fluttered, and behind him, the pennants and banners of his army, the Shining Guard, snapped to and fro. The prince closed his eyes and allowed his mind to wander back.
Now he was in the past, at the great harbor of Lothern. A great flotilla of High Elf longships waited at anchor. The sun shone brightly, and the silver and gold adornments on the ships shone and glimmered so that it was hard to look at them. Each vessel was laden with warriors and supplies for the long campaign in the Old World. None of the High Elves knew how long the army would have to fight to drive the hordes of Chaos out of the Empire, but there was no talk of defeat. It was only a matter of how long it would take to achieve victory. Spirits were high, as they always were when the High Elves went to sea.
The Phoenix King stood resplendent in his war gear. He had traded his crown for a tall, golden helm and his scepter for a magnificent sword of purest ithilmar. The King took Prince Tyrion's hands in his own, and smiled.
"I entrust the defense of home to you, my old friend. To you, and the Shining Guard that you will lead, should our enemies find our shores once again."
And they will, was the unspoken message. King Finubar and Prince Tyrion could see the Witch King's plot unfolding all too clearly, but to ignore the Empire's plea for aid would be th trade victory now for certain defeat later. The Dark Elves were coming, of that there was no question. All that was left to know was where they would land, and how soon.
The Prince and the King turned as one, and looked out across the proud legions of the Shining Guard, gathered to pay tribute to their brethren who were leaving for the Old World. Of all the warriors and mages who were not making the journey across the sea, the Guard were the best and brightest. Though a small army even by High Elf standards, they were proud and determined. Tyrion had inspired those qualities in them, the King knew.
"It is a mighty army, Prince Tyrion. They will serve you well."
"They will serve Ulthuan, my liege." answered the Prince. "With their lives, if need be."
The King smiled and then turned to board his ship. That was the last time Tyrion had seen him.
"Black Ark! Black Ark to the north!" It was the cry of a sentry, echoing from the sea-side tower near where the Prince was standing.
Tyrion's eyes snapped open. It was darker now. How long had he mused? The sun was gone, and the gloom of night was swallowing up the last tattered beams of gold and orange light in the west. There, against the fading glow he could see a black shape, like a distant mountain rising above the wave. No islands lay in that direction, the Prince knew.
And the mountain was coming closer.
"Prepare for attack!" called out the Prince, and the warriors of the Shining Guard raced into action, taking up defensive positions along the shore. The nearby village of Nimosar had been fortified in preparation for the attack. Batteries of Eagle Claw Bolt Throwers lining the high cliffs that looked out over the sea, and mages stood ready to hurl deadly spells at the enemy.
The last glorious rays of the sunset burned themselves out and darkness swept over the land. The long wait was over - the enemy was here. It was time for the true quality of the Shining Guard to be put to the test.
スクリーンショット撮ってOCRで文字に起こして誤りを手作業で修正、その後機械翻訳に突っ込む・・・というようなことをチマチマやっておりましたら、やっぱりいました・・すでに書き出してる人が（2009年に）。
HEROのGaloran Surewindさんの名前で検索かけてみて発見。
悪いがコピらせてもらう。英語の方はローカルに持っておきます。
ちなみにGaloran Surewindさんの名前では彼のGoogleでさえ4件しかhitせず、しかも2件は何か別のゲームのページ（PathFinder？とか）だったので、これはOnlineの独自キャラなのかも。
超訳すると「（留守を任された）ティリオンさんが、来るぞ来るぞと思ってたらやっぱりダークエルフ来やがった。さぁやるぜ。」というだけの内容。
ポイントは大体以下の名詞辺りと思う。
・a magnificent sword of purest ithilmar
・King Finubar and Prince Tyrion could see the Witch King
・"Black Ark! Black Ark to the north!"
・nearby village of Nimosar
ithilmar の剣というのが何か謂れがあって、ティリオンは背景にも出てきた有名なハイエルフの戦士にして将軍、それが王子で、だから王＝父はFinubar。フィヌバー？この人はEmpireへの援軍に随身したっぽい・・・違う。フィヌバールだ。不死鳥の王、その人そのものだ。ティリオンはフィヌバールの息子なのか？？？王と、最も信頼する家臣で比喩的な表現なのか？？まぁ置いといて・・・BlackArkはダークエルフが戦闘で使う船の名前、Nimosarという村があって戦闘のために強化されている。そんなところかと。まずNimosar探すか。※ここじゃないのか
ところで同様にNPC名で検索かけたらこんなところも発見
前にも見たことあるサイトデザインだがWarhammer Fantasy（TRPG?)のwikiaでHighElfの歴史とかが語られている（っぽい）。まずこういうところを読んでからの方がゲームの中の話追うのも追いやすいような気がしてきた。。

クエストは単発で終わるのと、繰り返しできるのと、完了報告先で次のクエストに繋がるのがあって、基本的には次のに繋がるの系を追っていけたらよさそう。※文中の「Yaourt」は自キャラ（ハゲ）の名前。
小説風の説明->簡単な説明->スーパーサマリ のように書かれているらしい。
最初の2つは「敵NPC殺して戻ってこい＞ご褒美」のクエストっぽくて3番目の Hope Renewed が何か先がありそう。まぁひとつづつやってみる。
気になるキーワードは
・Moonrise Tower （今いるところ）
・月の森 （Moonrise Forestの機械翻訳。今いるエリア名）
・ithilmarブーツの行進 （=不死鳥の王の援軍なので”ithlmar”はハイエルフの軍を象徴する何か・・例えば神の名前とかかと想像）
・lshaの光 （これはイスハっていう神の名前だったはず。なんとかOfIshaというシナリオマップもあったような。）
・Calumelの海底洞窟 （？。行けばわかるか。祭壇で跪く人が「Calumel Survivor」なので単純に地名か）

Yaourt、あなたにも ithilmar ブーツの行進が聞こえるか。不死鳥王が Lothern から援軍を送ったのか？ lsha はまだ私たちをみ捨てていないぞ、Yaourt。 海の洞窟に向かって南東の道を進め。

最初の場所から目的のPrince Eldrionの方へ向かうとすぐに別のクエストくれる人が座り込んでいた。-> The Eagle's Claw これが連続クエストで、本件の「Prince Eldrionを見つけて話してください。」と目的が同じになるので、先に終わらせつつ進む。というか道沿いに歩くとすぐいた。この手前でエリア名が「Moonrise Forest」から「Calumel」にかわる。
クリックで2件のクエストが同時に完了。それとこの人も新たなクエストを新規でくれる。本件はここで話をしたらご褒美もらって完結。
The Eagle's Claw
Help me, Ironbreaker! I am wounded! As you can see, my fellow crew and I have been laid low by the Dark Elf assault. Were it not for my wounds, I would man this Bolt Thrower alone. Alas, I have no strength left! Take control of this

そこのIB、助けてくれ！怪我をしているんだ！見ての通り我々はDark Elfの攻撃によって活動不能に陥っている。もし怪我さえなければ一人ででもこの弩に乗り込むのに、 ああ、私にはもうその力が残っていない！ このイーグルクローを使いこなして、向かってくるHarpiesを追い返してくれ！風に運ばれて、 奴らの甲高い叫び声が聞こえないか？奴らを空から追い払わないと、我々は窮地に立たされることになる！

Ironbreaker（IB）のとこは自キャラの職業が入ると思われる。ここらでマップ備え付け型の武器・・・城攻めの時に門を叩くramやoilを撃つcannonの使い方を学ばせようというもの。これがすごい威力で、この武器で敵を殺してもちゃんと経験値が入るのでちょっとずるい。倒して報告したら2段階目が発生。※ついのりのりで訳（というより理解した機械翻訳の内容）を書いてしまう。

祖先（前任者？）に会いに行くのだが、もう一つ頼みが・・・南にいる Prince Eldrion を探してこの状況を伝えてほしい。うまくいけばHarpyの大群が次に襲ってくる前に交代要員が届くはず。すぐ行け。失望させないでくれ！

訳が「祖先」ならもう死んじゃうから、「前任者」なら軍隊の仕事の都合的なもので行かなきゃいけないから、ハーピーの大軍が攻撃開始する前に代わりの兵隊送るように、Prince Eldrionさんを探して伝えてくれ、ってとこか。道沿いすぐ先にEldrionさんが立っているので話しかけたらそこで終了。
祖先と前任者でだいぶ印象かわるなぁ・・・。しかしダークエルフが攻めてきた！という場面でなぜハーピーが？ハーピーはダークエルフの友達？戦闘用の猛獣的な、いきもの兵器的な扱い？謎が深まってしまった。
Spiteful Carrion-Eaters
Prince Mournfire was like a brother to me. When word of the Black Ark's arrival reached Lothern, I implored the Phoenix King to give me command of the relief effort. Even as eloquent as I am in my speech, I found myself at a loss for words when I beheld the sight of his Sun Drake. My darkest fears have been realized this day. Yaourt. I shall mourn my brother's passing or centuries to come, but first, the followers of Malekith will suffer my resolve. Kill the harpies desecrating the sight of Prince Udaen Mournfire's final battle.
Mournfire王子は私の兄弟のようだった。BlackArk到来の報告をLothernで受けたとき、私はCalmel救援をPhoenixKingに自ら志願した。と言えば聞こえはいいが、私は彼のSun Drakeを見て言葉を失った。最も恐れていたことが今日、現実となった。Yaourt。兄弟の死、これから始まるであろう歴史は悲しむべきことだが、まず最初Malekith信者には私の決断に苦んでもらう。Prince Udaen Mournfire 最後の戦いの地を冒涜するHarpiesを殺せ。

Hope Renewed と The Eagle's Claw の目的だったPrince Eldrionから受領。
やることはArkaneth Harpieを5匹殺して戻ってこい、だけだがMournfire王子とかhis Sun Drakeとかfollowers of MalekithとかPrince Udaen(Mournfire王子？)とか重要そうな名詞が。謎のHarpyが”Arkaneth” Harpyになってるし、これは検索タイムかな・・・。とにかくArkaneth Harpies殺してみて戻るとこの件は普通にご褒美もらって終わり。だがタイトルを変えてPrince Eldrionさんが別のクエストをくれるようになる。
※Calumelは遺跡・・・むしろ「廃墟」か。
※海底洞窟・・・Eldrionさんの目の前にある、入れない洞窟のことと思われる。これにもなにか背景ストーリーに基づく謂れがあるんだろうか。
The Brides of Khaine

Witch Elves と呼ばれている Kaine の邪悪な花嫁たちは、東に布陣した。 これらのダークエルフは殺人の神 Khaine に彼らの全てと分別のない暴力を捧げ、私たちの民の父 Asuryan の非難を拒む。 Asuryan が調和を求めている傍ら、Khaineは虐殺と肉体の苦しみだけを求めている。Witch Elvesは、私たちのもつ性質の暗い側面を抱き、堕落に耽る。戦ってすべて片づけるほか選択肢はない。その気はあるか？

AsuryanとKhaineという重要そうな名詞。そしてWitch Elvesはプレイヤーが選択できるDarkElfのステルス、暗殺系ジョブの名前でもある。というかこの調子で続くとどこで区切っていいのかわからない・・・とりあえず殺して戻って報告したらこの件は完結。また名前を変えて新しいクエストをくれるようになった。
A Difficult Choice
Our sundered sisters hold several citizens of Calumell shudder to think of the vile degradations my misguided kin have in store for them. The captured are of a courageous lineage, and they would attempt escape even if it meant their lives were forfeit. If not for the paralytic poisons used by the Witch Elves, these captives might have already freed themselves. Our supplies are limited, but I have managed to find one antidotal salve. AdminiSter it to one of the captured High Elves. Unfortunately, it will fall upon you to choose who you will save, and who you will leave behind.
Our sundered sistersで私たちのsunderされた姉妹、つまり大昔theSunderingと呼ばれた内戦で分裂したDark Elvesのこと。my misguided kinで私の間違った親戚、これもDark Elvesのことと読んでおく。そうすると。。。
Dark Elves は、何人かの Calumell 市民を捕獲している。捕虜に対する奴らの手を考えると、捕虜にされているのはそれこそ命を懸けてでも脱出を試みるような勇気ある血筋の者なので、WitchElvesの毒で麻痺させられているに違いない。私たちの限られた物資の中に何とか解毒剤を見つけることができたので、捕虜にされたHighElfの1人にこれを渡してほしい。あいにく、あなたが誰を救い、誰を置き去りにするかを選ぶことになってしまうが。

英語が難しくなってまいりました。しかし誰を逃がすかで結果が変わるんだろうか・・・とりあえずダークエルフの祭壇らしきもののところにnamedなノーマル（CHAMPIONとかではない）ウィッチエルフの姿の敵がおりました。後でこの名前も検索しよう。そしてその左右に3人ずつ”Wounded Calumel Citizen” が倒れていて・・・名前に区別もないようなので任意の一人をクリックしてクエスト完了。戻って報告したらまた別名クエストをくれるようになった。
グループアイコンで顔が隠れてしまった Lirasa the Hagさん。。
ゲーム「Dead by Daylight」に登場する殺人鬼で本名 「リサ・シャーウッド」というのしか出てこない。あちらは2016年リリースなので関係なしか。
※HAG=鬼女だそうで。
※ところでこのWounded Calumel Citizens、倒れてるくせにそばに敵がわくと戦い始める。しかも武器持ってないからモーションはいきなり回し蹴り。勇気ある血筋だ。
Shadows of War

Will you become part to the Shining Guard? Excellent! Welcome, Yaourt, noble lronbreaker of the Shining Guard! Because we have not the numbers to face the enemy at their Black Ark head-on, we are instead forced to use cunning and tact. I have dispatched a select regiment for this purpose. I want you to join them. Find and speak with Sariel Keenbow in Azurewood.
勇敢な精神のYaourt。気迫が伝わってきます。この厳しい時代にあなたのようなIBを投入することができるとは。何を言ってるって？運命を受け入れるか？ シャイニング・ガードに加わりたいって？すばらしい！ ようこそYaourt、シャイニングガードの高貴なlronbreaker！...まぁブラックアークを正面で迎え撃つには数が足りないので、ずるい手も使わざるを得ないわけですよ。 私はこの目的のために選りすぐりの連隊を派遣しました。どうか彼らに合流してほしい。 Azurewood で Sariel Keenbow を見つけて話してください。

ようやく解放されそうじゃ。Azurewoodという地名、"Sariel Keenbow"という人名。どうやら自キャラの種族を問わず、この一連の流れの中でプレイヤーは「シャイニングガード」つまりハイエルフの軍隊に(だまし討ちで？なのか・・・これ。）組み込まれることになりそう。まともならこんなハイエルフスタート地点の低レベル向けクエストやるのはハイエルフの新規プレイヤーだけだったろうし、同族ならまぁシャレにもなるかもしれないけど、エルフがドワーフだまして戦争に巻き込んでいいんだろうか。ともかくこれで指定された地点に移動してSariel Keenbowさんに話しかけたらこの件は完了。
橋を渡ってすぐのところでエリア名が「Azurewood」に変わる。
目的の人物まではすぐ。

とりあえずここ、Eldrionさんから解放されるまでをこのノート内の記録として、続きは次にする。このキー坊がまた４クエストsギヴァーで、周りにも3～4人のクエストギヴァーがすでに視界に入っていて気が重い。。
※これでまだ全6種族中のうちの一つの、全3エリアの1つの、4Tireのうちの1つの、2マップ中の片方の、いくつもある拠点の最初の1つなので、この粒度で追うのは絶対無理。先に寿命が尽きる。次からはもっと簡略化する・・・。
