1⃣Since childhood, my family have had some interests in various social issues.
Carbon dioxide emissions, an aging society, juvenile delinquency, violent natural disasters and so on.
And yet, what has made us frightened the most is food shortage, I assume.

子供の頃からずっと私の家族は様々な社会問題に関心を持ってきている。二酸化炭素排出量や高齢化社会や少年犯罪や暴力的な自然災害などなどである。しかし私達を最もぞっとさせることは、食糧危機だと私は仮定する。

2⃣People like us living in the industrialized developed nations tend to take it for granted that there are breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
On the other hand, unlike us, a large number of people in some developing countries have no choice but to spend several days without eating or drinking anything. It is natural that there should be numerous children with fewer nutritions .

私達のように先進工業国で生活する人間にとっては、朝食と昼食と夕食が毎日あることを当然のことと考える傾向がある。その一方で私達とは違って、様々な開発途上国で生活する人々は、何も飲み食いすることなく何日間も過ごす以外には選択の余地がないものも多い。当たり前のことではあるが、多くの子供達が栄養失調の状態である。

3⃣According to some experts and researchers, different serious factors have resulted in such situations. One of the significant causes is that a few tribes in a narrow region are forced to conflict and things will grow to be a heavier corrision with modern weapons imported from some developed nations. As a result, the number of refugees has been getting larger and larger.

様々な専門家や研究者によると、複数の深刻な要因がそのような状況を生むとのことである。重大な原因の一つとして次のことが挙げられる。広くない領域の中で、少数の部族が争うことを余儀なくされる。そして状況が更に激しい衝突へと悪化する。それは一部の先進工業国から輸入される現代兵器を伴う。その結果、難民の数はますます増加するのである。

4⃣A newspaper or a television program says that we are not unlikely to have an effective solution to terrible conditions described above. However, it is not easy to have enough information at a personal level. My conclusion is that I would like to continue to learn about several international social problems in this college. I believe that this decision never fail to become helpful for my future.

新聞やテレビ番組の報道によると、上記で述べられたひどい状況に対する効果的な解決策を持つ可能性が低い訳ではないとのことである。しかし十分な情報を個人レベルで得ることは簡単なことではない。私の結論としては、この大学で様々な国際的な社会問題についての学習を継続していきたいということである。そしてその決定が私の将来に必ず役に立つものと私は信じている。
