Food, Drinks And Clothes

Do we really need to possess things?? Well, obviously we need to wear clothes and shoes because we can't be walking outside naked in public. And we also need a smartphone to get by in this era of internet. But other than that, do we really need to have the things we have right now. When thinking about the life or death situation, we just need food to survive. If you sincerely think about that, I guess you are find it odd to think of having things itself as a goal to impress others. 

Cultivate Lands VS Very Specified Task

Right before writing this, I was watching the anime called '未来少年コナン'. The story is about the world where half of the earth was devastated by the post-nuclear weapon and most of the continents sunk in the seas and some of them broken into tiny islands. And the population on the islands varies. Some maintain the technology before war and propelled with cities, while there is much less population on some other islands and people make food all by their own. 
When I was watching the forth episode, it occurred to me that 'money' has no use on those tiny islands. We tend to forget how it works and take that for granted. But 'money' has the 'value' only when people trust that the 'paper and coins' have more 'value' than they actually have as material. 
So there are two types of ways of living in this current society.

1,  No Trust In The Capital System & Government
People cultivate lands, grow plants and make food by themselves. They also build their own home. They basically do things all by themselves. And if they need somethings or some help, they can ask their neighbors for help. In that situation, helping each other is common, and if they need some food or whatever, they trade it with  what they have, not 'money'. What they actually have like livestock, fish vegetables or fruits is more trustworthy than 'money'. 

2, Believe In 'Money' System
This is what 90% of population has been doing including me. They put their whole trust in 'money' the government has issued, and they do very specific work in the society to earn the 'paper and coins'. As long as paper and coins have trust from people and they are believed to have more 'value' than they actually do, you can use them to get food, drinks and clothes or to pay for the data service for your smartphone. 

Takeaway:
- You don't need anything else if your body is in one piece. Having brand shit to impress others is nonsense if you stop to think about the simple situation of small islands of '未来少年コナン'. Just food, drinks and clothes is what we need the most.
- Use 'money' while it's still considered to have 'value'
