Microsoftサポートページにごくたまに出現する、ウィンドウのキャプチャ画像がなぜかSVG画像集

ひょんなことから、解像度高いなぁと思っていたらSVGだったので調べてみました。

調査方法

GitHubからリポジトリをダウンロードし、拡張子がSVGであるファイルを対象とする。

対象外

• 製品ロゴなどウィンドウのキャプチャ画像でないもの

• 拡大し文字が画像となっていると判断したもの (アイコン、ウィンドウ枠のみ画像などは対象外としていない)

注意

https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/SupportArticles-docs/blob/main/support/azure/virtual-machines/os-bootmgr-missing.md が「Win32/Filecoder.FS トロイの木馬」としてESETに検出されました。職場等による管理対象デバイスでダウンロードされないことをおすすめする。

考察

Windows 7環境における画像はHyper-Vで画面キャプチャした時のような16ビットに減色されているため、100%職人による作成ではなくツールで画像を取り込み、多言語化を想定したテストをしていたのではないかと思われる。

ただし、以下の理由から実用化には至っていないものと思われる。

• 数枚のSVGファイルは画像だけだったりした

• 体感ではMicrosoftのサポートページでよくみる画像はすでにある画像に上からはめ込みで作成された画像が多い気がした

これらの多くは、文字がはみ出していたり、拡大すると元の英語がちらりと覗いたりする。
