Grieving

Loss is loss and the grieving process has to be negotiated whatever your age if you lose your parents.

We are all individuals and therefore we grieve in our own unique way.

There is no right or wrong way to grieving just your way that works for you.

I still miss my parents and lost them when I was 49 years old my Mom and then my Dad at 51 years old.

I still felt like an orphan which sounded ridiculous but then I realized it was their love and reassurance of their presence that I miss and the conversations.

You have to accept we all have our own hurts and sense of loss no matter our ages.

To underestimate that loss because of someone's age is to trivialize their experiences.

Treat everyone with love and understanding because if you are still blessed with having your parents.

Cherish them and when you too have to go through the grieving process you will get back what you have given out.

Physical death is so final and there are no more conversations no more hugs or laughs.

So remember to make the effort no matter how busy you are to check in with them to say hello and are they doing OK?

Show your love by the things you do for them.

One day they won't be any time left to do it because they are no longer alive and the opportunity has gone.
