Sometimes silence is best until you process your feelings enough to communicate effectively and without doing harm. And sometimes silence is necessary for dealing with pesky narcissists in your life.
Parents love and care for their children as much as they can in the best way they know how. I still think it depends on the person though. Some don't turn into narcissists when they are raised this way but I do see how this also goes the other way too.
It’s not about winning. It’s about protecting your mental health in any relationship. If you’re dealing with a narcissist for example, the only way to avoid the abuse is to not play into it.
