RMJ 4th Multinational Moms Meeting (January 2023) Katsushika,Tokyo

Hello! This is Kanami, a member of the RMJ.

This time, I will be reporting on the Mom's Meeting held in January.

First, write your name tag at the reception desk.

The fourth meeting had a total of 26 participants, including 12 moms, 10 children, and 4 volunteers.

We had 4 moms who participated for the first time, so I felt the group has been getting more and more exciting.

What are your resolutions for 2023?

Based on the feedback from the last meeting, we decided to set a theme and have a discussion from this time.

The theme for the first time was "What are your resolutions for 2023?"

We posted resolutions on the wall

Each person prepared their resolution in English before the meeting and shared it in order.

Moe, the RMJ representative

The first speaker was Moe, the RMJ representative. The presentations were given in English and Japanese.

Moe’s resolutions for 2023

RMJ’s resolution was "More Friends!" and personal one was "Sing on Stage!" Moe revealed a side of herself as a singer that I didn't know before, and it was interesting.

Presentation of Me, Kanami and my daughter

This is me giving my presentation.

My resolution for this year is "PREPARE DINNER THE NIGHT BEFORE TO SAVE TIME IN THE EVENING." LOL!

I'm currently on maternity leave, but I'll be returning to work in April and my daughter will be starting nursery school, so I wanted to reduce the chaos in the evening as much as possible.

By the way, as of March, I have already failed this goal.

The other members mentioned work, language and child-rearing, such as “get a job,” “change hobby to work,” “study English,” “learn Japanese,” and “enjoy child-rearing.”

It was interesting to see that both Japanese and foreign moms had similar visions.

Since it was held on a Saturday this time, even kindergarten children who can't usually come were there and having fun with their friends.

Thank you to all the volunteers who always come and help.

Volunteers, children, and mothers come together at the RMJ Mom's Meeting, creating intergenerational connections that are one of its many attractions.

There are also moms of children who are close in age to my daughter, so the conversations flow easily.

Next time, the theme for the Mom's Meeting will be "Cultural Differences Between Japan and Other Countries."

We had many "Aha!" moments and learned a lot from each other during our discussion, so please look forward to it!
