#03 Can you go? by Paulette Kelly

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?
or who shall stand in his holy place?

Paulette Kelly

My name is Paulette Kelly. I was born in the United States of America but lived most of my life in my parents’ birthplace: Jamaica. As a child, I was considered a Bible-lover. When my siblings were outside busy playing with friends I would be propped up in bed eagerly reading Deuteronomy. I had a great interest in anything related to God’s temple. My other favorite activity was attending all-night prayer meetings with my mother. This interest followed me into my teen years. After leaving senior high school I worked in my church’s office for three years. I spent a lot of time answering phones, helping with our radio prayer program and typing sermons.
After the church office I went to Bible college and studied street evangelism, expressive praise and pastoral care. My pull was to church ministry but God allowed me to pursue a career in teaching. I went to teachers’ college then taught for 13 years. However my leaning towards ministry still surfaced. I preached the Gospel in General Assembly and led the student body to Christ.
When I came to Japan I didn’t intend to go to church but the Holy Spirit showed me Okazaki Hope Chapel one day and clearly stated, “I have placed you here.”He led me into the book of Ezekiel and showed me that I was called to be a watchman.

“And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.” [Ezekiel 3:4]

James Kawalya

My name is James Kawalya. I was born in Uganda. On the day of my birth my mother carried me to the region’s most powerful witch and we were married. From then onwards I was given great powers. Growing up, none of the children in my village were allowed to play with me because I could hurt them badly. Once my teacher reprimanded me in school. I looked on her and she instantly went blind. She had to come to my house later and apologize before I restored her sight. I grew up to be a witch-doctor. My powers eventually brought me to the attention of the occult world in Europe. I was sent to Rome. Warlocks there trained me to be a Grand Master. They then sent me back to Africa with the mandate to control activities within the region. I was also told to recruit 5,000 young people from top universities into the occult. The aim was two-fold 1. to advance the kingdom of darkness and 2. to destroy praying churches.

Paulette’s Story:
Jamaica is a beautiful island. Early explorers called it the ‘land of wood and water’ because of its many forests and rivers. The temperature is warm, and the people are very friendly. Our motto is “No problem!” due to how relaxed we are as a people. However, Jamaica has many problems; crime, corruption, the molestation of children and the presence and popularity of witch doctors are our biggest. Of all these the prevalence of witch doctors is the most serious. (Witch doctors fast and pray like us but their allegiance is to Satan.) The aim of these witch doctors is two-fold: 1. To initiate school children into the occult and 2. to destroy Jamaica’s churches.

Because of how much warfare Jamaican churches undergo, they must spend a lot of time in prayer. Every church has a night of prayer. These are run by the pastor’s wife or the highest ranking “prayer warrior” in the church. Churches also have all night prayer meetings where members travail in prayer throughout the night, often wrestling with principalities and other territorial spirits.

In Jamaica, I was a part of my church’s prayer team. I prayed with them and visited other churches to pray with their prayer teams. Over the years, I’ve met several prayer warriors and pastors with an anointing on them for prayer. However, I have not seen the anointing for prayer on anyone as strong as it is on Pastor Sato, Koji. His ministry of prayer and intercession defines Okazaki Hope Chapel as a praying church.

James’ Story:
One day I was called to a meeting of warlocks at a hotel in Sicily. They complained that they could not access the spiritual highway over the River Nile and demonic undertakings in that area were being obstructed. This was because of a church I had failed to destroy. I was very surprised. “What church?” I kept asking.

My fellow warlocks informed me of a church I hadn’t seen in the realm of the spirit. This church was made up of a young pastor and twenty older women. The church was dirt poor (it wasn’t even tiled) and the women were illiterate, but they had amassed great power due to prayer.

This power was due to the church’s commitment to prayer. They had committed themselves to praying from 6pm to 9pm every day for 90 days. For the first hour they would pray prayers of repentance, for the second prayers of praise and the third hour was devoted to spiritual warfare. They promised each other that if even one member was missing on any given day they would start the 90 day cycle all over again. They were currently on day 40 and due to their prayers 7,000 churches all over the world had experienced revival -even in Columbia!

My fellow warlocks and I realized that if the church completed their prayer assignment they would not only see a great revival but they would impair demonic activities in the region for the next 70 years! We needed to stop them!

We decided to infiltrate the church by sending two young women who were occultists to ‘offer support’. These women defiled the church by singing on the altar and putting money in the offering basket. They then bought a home for the young pastor and filled it with defiled food. (They made sure that the home was so far away that the pastor had trouble getting to church on time). They attacked the pastor’s baby with eczema, so she cried throughout the night. This interrupted the pastor’s sleep, so he was always tired. Then they gave money to the praying women so they could focus on starting businesses rather than going to church.

These activities weakened the church but we didn’t see a breakthrough until day 89. The church had covered themselves under the blood of Jesus and covered their names in His light. However, we knew that there was one area Christians are weak in: unconfessed sin. We cast curses at the church until one hit a prayer warrior who had bitterness in her heart towards her mother. One of the young women then met with her after church and said, “I used to know your mother. You look just like her!” The intercessor cursed in anger, and we knew we had scored a victory. We then set spirits of contention and strife among the intercessors. Instead of fighting the kingdom of darkness they began to fight each other. Then one woman quarreled with the pastor about his tardiness. The pastor got angry and cursed at her. At that moment the anointing left them, their prayer shield was broken and the highway over the River Nile was back in our possession.

Paulette’s Story:
Recently, Pastor Sato preached about putting on the armor of God. Have you realized how many military metaphors are used in the New Testament? Whether Christians are aware of it or not, they are under attack by enemy-forces. Whether you are aware of it or not Satan’s kingdom knows all about Okazaki Hope Chapel and has a strategy in place to defeat us.

Right after describing the pieces of our armor, Paul speaks about the importance of prayer. Why? Because after putting on our armor we need to understand the day’s battle formations and strategies for victory. What should we pray about? When you wake each day ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. How should you pray? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. I will now speak about an experience I had in prayer this year.

In February I found myself with fewer than 6 workdays. I was getting paid by my company, but I had nothing to do. The Holy Spirit spoke to me in January. He said, “Work for me: Go to church and pray. “From February 4th, I went to church with the mission to pray for revival but from that day till the last day of February, I had to be confessing sins as the Holy Spirit led me into repentance. Then He showed me hurts from the past that I needed healing from. Then He showed me idols I had placed before Him. Then He showed me the work of deception in my life: the belief that because I had been so involved with church and doing ‘good works’ from young adulthood, I was sinless. At the end of the month, I felt as though I had failed my job: I didn’t pray for revival: all I did was see how sinful I really was! My aim was to ascend the Lord’s hill but I couldn’t get off my knees.

While I pondered my failure to pray for sinners, the Holy Spirit led me to 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Healing for Japan, is not birthed out of sinners’ repentance. It’s birthed out of our turning from our nakedness, woundedness and self-deception.

Please ascend God’s holy hill with me. Let us start on our knees.

James Kawalya

James’ Story
When I was in the kingdom of darkness, and I wanted to destroy a praying church I would examine it to find these three types of Christians.

1. THOSE NAKED. These are Christians living in sin. Every Christian is given a spiritual garment. Sin soils it. [When Jesus comes back, he is coming back for this garment. This is why Ephesians 5:27 refers to Christians without spot or wrinkle] Sin can also cause you to lose your garment. [Revelation 3:17] When I was in the kingdom of darkness, I could see if a Christian was naked or if they had on a soiled garment. The type of soil would tell me the type of sin. That spot would be the entry point for my attack. [How do you keep your garment spotless? Confess and repent of your sins. Let go of bitterness and resentment. Walk in forgiveness]

2. THOSE WOUNDED AND NOT HEALED. These are Christians carrying pain from the past. If you are carrying wounds from childhood, it’s important that you ask and allow God to heal you.

3. THOSE WHO ARE DECEIVED BY THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS. These are Christians who are so proud of what they’ve accomplished that their actions become an idol. That idolatry becomes an abomination to God.

James Kawalya is a minister of the Gospel with a special grace to minister deliverance and healing to individuals, families and communities. The power of Christ delivered him from 24 years of satanism and occultism. He is the founding pastor of Lifeway Church of Christ in Uganda and TRANSFORM Christian Fellowship.
