メルボルン大学修士設計スタジオとの連携 / Collaboration with design studio at Melbourne University

2024年1月に、メルボルン大学建築学科修士設計スタジオとThe Red Dot Schoolの合同セッションを行いました。メルボルン大学大学院と講師の計14名が佐木島を訪問し、RDS関連物件の見学、古材のカンナがけワークショップ、鷺浦小学校との交流、レクチャーなどを行いました。
In January 2024, the Master of Architecture design studio at the University of Melbourne and The Red Dot School held a joint session. A total of 14 students from the University of Melbourne's Graduate School and lecturers visited Sagishima to tour RDS-related properties, participate in carpentry workshops, interact with Saginoura Elementary School.

解体を待つ島内の市営住宅 Vacant houses on the island awaiting demolition

2023年9月コースで解体した空き家から取り出した古材にカンナをかけるワークショップ。講師に大工兼地域おこし協力隊の四方氏。A workshop to apply a planer to old wood taken from an abandoned house demolished in the September 2023 course. The instructor was carpenter Mr. Shikata.

カンナの調整方法を学んだ後、古材の表面を削った。After learning how to adjust the planer, they scraped the surface of the old wood.

メルボルン大学で講師を務めるナンシーさん Nancy, a lecturer at the University of Melbourne, also tried her hand at planing.

鷺浦小学校の子供達による圧巻の太鼓パフォーマンス Impressive taiko performance by children of Sagiura Elementary School

鷺浦小学校にて佐木島ロッテリアゲームを通じた交流を行った 。Everyone enjoyed a game called "Sagishima Loteria" created by children and RDS.

RDS卒業生もサポートに入ってくれました。RDS alumni also came in to support the session.

丸1日を佐木島で一緒に過ごしました。We spent a whole day together on Sagishima.
