Hello everyone! It’s SHARI, from the Community Team!🍣
The cherry blossom season has started! 🌸Although there have been fewer chilly days lately, the cherry blossoms in the nearby park have suddenly come into full bloom! Have you ever gone cherry blossom viewing? 😊

Speaking of cherry blossom viewing, I was curious about the origin of the name "sakura," so I looked it up! There are various theories, but it seems that the origin of the word comes from adding the character "ra," which means "multiple," to the verb "saku" meaning "to bloom."

Just as many cherry blossoms are blooming in REALITY, this month is also packed with lots of content that we want to deliver to everyone. ✨
With that being said, let’s get to the REALITY Newsletter issue of March 2023!


Big Announcement

■Metaverse EXPO in REALITY

This summer, a festival for creators who work in REALITY will be held! It's called "Metaverse EXPO in REALITY," and an event venue will be set up in the REALITY world!

As part of this event, we are currently recruiting exhibitors until May 8th, 2023 at 11:59 pm (JST).👀✨

Please take a look! The exhibition booths are amazing!✨

Posters and videos can be displayed inside the booth, and you can choose either Plan A or Plan B.

Update implementation

■Hand Tracking is available for 72 hours!

Every year on April Fool's Day, REALITY delivers surprises to everyone with features that make you want to say "Is this for real!?"
Last year we had a historic rerun of all gachas that we had in REALITY! But only for one day. 
And the year before, the collabs which usually only can have up to 4 people were available for up to 100 people!
Some of you might still have these two in your memories…✨

And this year's REALITY April Fool's Day surprise was... the introduction of a special feature called "Hand Tracking"!

It is amazing that you can move your hands and face with just one smartphone!✨

Although it was a limited feature available only on April 1st and 2nd, 2023, we are glad if it could help everyone become closer to their desired self by expanding their ways of expressing themselves.

■NHK WORLD JAPAN × REALITY Collab

Sakura World Kinema is currently screening popular videos from NHK WORLD JAPAN! The films shown will change every week, so please check them out 👀🎥 Until 2:00 PM on April 5th (JST), we will be screening 'NHK Drama Showcase'.

Let’s try to watch some videos while having fun with our friends and viewers!

■Virtual Osaka Station Station Umekita World is here!

A new platform was born underground in Osaka Station (Umekita area) on Saturday, March 18, 2023! To commemorate this event, a limited-time virtual Osaka Station Umekita World will be available in REALITY until Sunday, April 23!

In addition, the announcement for the arrival of the "Kansai Airport Express Haruka" in the virtual world is being handled by the popular VTubers "Koga Ninja! Pompoko" and "Peanuts-kun"!

●Peanuts-kun: From 3:00 PM on March 15, 2023, until 1:59 PM on April 5, 2023 (JST)
●Pompoko: From 3:00 PM on April 5, 2023, until 11:59 PM on April 23, 2023 (JST)

In the Umekita World, you can experience riding the Kansai Airport Express Haruka…

You can also take photos at the face recognition ticket gate! The pictures taken at this gate will be directly reflected on the digital signage inside the station✨ Please check for the part where the REALITY mark is displayed!

In this photo, we have Tobiko-san who appears to be lost in Osaka Station! The train route map is also incredibly realistic!👀

During the period, there will be various events, including live streaming events, in the virtual world, so please enter the World and check them out! Also, from April 5th, collaboration items will be available for purchase at the Avatar Shop, so don't miss out on that too! 🚅

■ New features to help streamers get more information!

As of 3:00 pm on March 29th, the comment section during streaming and viewing has been updated! It now displays the number of times a user has entered the stream (up to three times).

Also, icons indicating "beginner mission status" are now displayed!🚩

Please be welcoming and talk to first-time viewers or beginners actively to help make them feel comfortable!✨

■4 New Free Emotes Released at once!

4 new emotes were released in REALITY lately. Have you checked it out yet?

This new emotes were added so that everyone can enjoy them for free in REALITY!
Also, this addition was based on everyone’s feedback too, so don’t forget to keep sending your feedback to us in our Monthly Surveys! 👏

8 new stickers were added this month too! Including the “Sigh…” and “Bet!”.

Adding to the last 8 ones we had this month, the Avatar Sticker Vol.15 brought yet another 8 new stickers, like the “Update your stickers!” and “Heart Fingers” !

I’m definitely using the “Update Avatar Stickers” one…!✨
Sometimes I want to send someone a collab sticker but it turns out that person hasn’t updated their stickers yet…

At REALITY, we share the feedback and requests we receive from everyone internally and accumulate them as a list of opinions and requests.

Here are some of the opinions and requests we have received from everyone regarding the features and events that are currently implemented in REALITY, as well as the improvements we have made based on them!

Metaverse! I’m REALITY’s CEO, DJ RIO.🤘

I recently attended the Game Developers Conference (GDC) held in San Francisco, USA. It's a large-scale event for game developers, but it's not limited to games. It's an event where companies and key persons related to digital entertainment, including VR, AI, Web3, and of course, the metaverse, gather from all over the world.

As REALITY is currently focusing on global expansion, we have been discussing with many industry leaders how to further spread REALITY around the world.

During conversations with many people, I have been demonstrating REALITY, and everyone is very surprised by the strengths of this product and the enthusiasm and culture of the community (you all). They are excited about the future potential of this metaverse.

I am excited because some of the connections I made in San Francisco are expected to have a positive impact on REALITY in the near future.

With that being said, see you next month!


Hello everyone! I'm Hayata from the REALITY team.
Although I am writing this in the latter half of March, spring has already arrived in Japan, and cherry blossoms are blooming. In REALITY's "Sakura World," cherry blossoms are in full bloom too! Please invite your friends and enjoy a virtual cherry blossom viewing!

Speaking of REALITY recently, the "Special Missions" have been released! I am heartened to see everyone sharing information such as "If you log in for two consecutive days, you can get a gacha ticket" and "It seems that you can get coins if you comment five times" through various streams.

In addition, more things can be done in REALITY, such as being able to play BGM from the settings button during streams (currently only available on iOS), and an increase in the number of free-to-use emotes. The possibilities, in REALITY, are expanding rapidly.

Please look forward to the evolution of REALITY this spring! That's all for now!

More and more of our users are getting to join our community and take part in our campaigns and social media, and that is extremely important to all of us. The more users we have living up our community and the more voices you guys send us, the better we can improve not only the app but the overall community.

As you guys know, we have monthly surveys in which we collect your opinions and feedback about REALITY, but we in the community team thought it might be good to have another more “speedy” way of collecting your feedback, especially when talking about things that just were released.

For that reason, we are starting a new hashtag #REALITY -feedback, and we hope to receive your messages here sending us your feedback too! If you enjoyed something that was released, have some ideas about the latest features that you want to share with us, or want to send some encouragement to the team, feel free to use this hashtag! Using it to share your experience with any feature that was released in the app is welcome too!
