Has Ms. Castelli decided on the type of wood she wants for her custom dining table and chairs?
Not yet. She asked for samples and recommendations. I wanted to check with you first. Any suggestions?
It depends on her budget. She has to decide on either hardwood or softwood, and then if she wants the wood painted or stained.
She wants a natural look, so not painted. Aren't softwoods too weak for tables and chairs?
They aren't, actually. Pine and cedar come from evergreen trees. They're naturally yellowish red, and our local suppliers always have them in stock.
Good to know. What about hardwood?
Many clients love a hardwood's rich colors and textures. They look good with a dark stain or a natural finish.
Their grain patterns are beautiful, but they are more expensive because the trees grow slowly. Cherrywood might be a good choice because it resists scratches. It is also popular, so we have it in stock. There should be enough for Ms. Castelli's project if she chooses it.
I'll run a sample by her. Thank you both!

Summary of our recent discussion
Hello Ms. Kim,
Here are the notes from today's discussion regarding the upcoming film shoot at the Hastings Bridge. Please review them and let me know if there is anything that I may have overlooked.
Two weeks before filming, notices will be plaed at both ends of the bridge to keep drivers informed.
During the week of filming, March 8-15, the road will be barricaded one block from both ends of the bridge. Security personnel will be stationed at the barricades to help direct traffic.
I will contact Nadia Sonder, the owner of a piece of land near the bridge's east entrance, to see whether she will rent it to us as a parking area for our trucks and equipment.
If Ms. Sonder is unwilling, I will make an alternative arrangement, which is likely to be the parking lot of a movie theater, a theme park, or grocery store. We would only need a little space in the corner, as our crew can pack our vehicles in pretty tightly, and we won't have any trailers with us, as all of our acgors will be staying in town.
With our deepest gratitude,

Busselton To Host Movie Shoot
BUSSELTON(January 23) Hastings Bridge, which crosses the Lawrence River in Busselton, will be closed from 7:00 A.M. on March 8 to 7:00 P.M. on March 15 while a film production takes place. Those who routinely use the bridge are urged to plan alternate routes.
Motorists should also be aware of the potential for increased pedestrian traffic in the area and take precautions accordingly. For the duration of the shoot, the film studio's vehicles and equipment will be stationed in an undeveloped area near the east end of the bridge.
While residents may be frustrated by the inconveniences that accompany the film production's work in Busselton, Althea Kim, head of the city's Office of Tourism, points to the gains for local residents.
"I appreciate the public's concerns, but the film's cast and crew will stay in the city's hotels and visit local restaurants as well as purchase other necessities," said Ms. Kim.
Local officials estimate that the production could bring in as much as one million dollars to Busselton.

Seed packet misprint
Dear Ms. Kirsch:
I received the voice mail you left yesterday and checked into the matter. The seed packages you referred to did include a misprint. We had intended for the "organic" label to appear in the lower-right corner, but the printer inadvertently left it out. Unfortunately, we failed to spot the error before the packages were shipped.
We are sending you, by express mail, several sheets of stickers labeled "organic" that you can affix to the lower-right corner of the seed packets so customers in your shop can be certain that they are buying organic seeds. We are also putting a credit of 25 euros on your account to make up for any inconvenience.
Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. Thank you, too, for your business over the years. We trust your customers will continue to be pleased with the seed varieties from Jardinar International
Sincerely,
