Fellow employees:
In an effort to reduce the amount of energy consumed by the company, the Environmental Steering Comittee has decided to purchase for our offices a new automation system from Zenva Technologies. The system will automatically regulate thermostats and overhead lights to accommodate our usual work schedules. For example, at 7:00 P.M. each weekday, all office lights will automatically be turned off or dimmed (except for hallway and stairwell lights). Likewise, on Saturdays and Sundays, the temperature will be maintained at a steady 17℃ instead of the usual 21℃ during the week. This new system should help reduce our monthly utility bills by at east 15% and help us meet our environmental goal of conserving electricity.
We acknowledge that some of you will be affected by these changes more than others, particulary those whose schedules do not conform to regular working hours. If this situation applies to you, feel free to contact the personnel department to request an office change, as some sections of the building will be set to a later schedule. Bring any other concerns to your superevisor.
