【Japan 2nd Preliminary Finals】Total Breakdown!

The best of the best come together for the [Japan 2nd Preliminary Finals]!
Witness the fight to the top as players compete for a spot in the [Japan National Tournament] and beyond!
Y-Katakuri's victory, K-Moria's under performance, GY-Yamato's amazing conversion rate, we will unravel all the mysteries as we deep dive into the data of the final major tournament of OP6.5!


Intro

About Tournament

A total of 176 players qualified for the [Japan 2nd Preliminary Finals], including the top 32 players from the Osaka, Aichi, Tokyo and Miyagi area tournaments, the top 16 players from the Hiroshima and Miyagi area tournaments, 2 players from each of the two Junior Friendly Cup divisions, and the top 4 teams from the 3-on-3 tournament (12 players).
Out of the 176 qualifiers, 174 players participated on the day of the event.

After 5 rounds of best-of-one qualifying games in a triple-elimination format, the top 32 players advance to the final tournament. The winners of the first round of the tournament are then qualified for the [Japan National Finals] planned for February 10th.

About Data

I have compiled 100 player results from Twitter to then extract unknown player data, resulting in approximately 141 players battle records (80% of complete data).

Deck Usage & Win Rates

As posted on my Twitter (https://twitter.com/ophirata), these are the charts for the Leader's usage rate (u/r) & win rates (w/r) for the finals.

Overview

・BK-Sakazuki:With a 50.7% w/r and coming on top for u/r, it is safe to say that Sakazuki is staple Leader. Of the top 32 players, 17 used Sakazuki, and placed 2nd in the tournament.
・K-Moria:Something went wrong with Moria. Moria has the 2nd most u/r but came in last with a 39.6% w/r…
・Y-Katakuri:Pascel, winner of the [Aichi Area Tournament] held November 18th, wins again with Y-Katakuri!
・GY-Yamato:Conquering a sea of Sakazukis, All Yamato players got through all 5 rounds of qualifiers, sending of their best 2 players to the tournament. Placing TOP 4 and TOP 32.

From here on, I will be adding a brief explanation at the end of each Leaders match-ups as we look at the details of the tournament.
Let us see what the top 3% of the Japan OPTCG players conclude through their battles to the Japan Nationals!
