Protesters and police clash on U.S campuses

Protesters and counter-protesters have been shattering the calm on campuses across the U.S.

Students, faculty, and those who live nearby are concerned tensions over the fighting in Gaza have created a hostile environment.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators have been camping on the grounds of Columbia University for more than a week.

They've heard warnings from police to dismantle their tents within the next few days.

Police have already arrested more than one hundred people.

Professors have canceled many in-person classes and are instead teaching online to prioritize safety.

But protesters say their demonstrations have been peaceful.
