Today, I will review this American yarn, Caron One Pound.

It will be a short video, so I hope you will watch till the end.
As the name suggests, this yarn is one pound of yarn.

It's hard to imagine how much a pound weighs for people in countries that don't use pound notation.
It will be 453.6 grams.　As a matter of fact, it seems that in the world, only the United States uses pound notation.　Nevertheless, the yard‐pound system is used all over the world in the aerospace field. The influence of America is amazing.

I've seen some yarn sold twice as big. I can't really imagine how big the largest yarn from any of the general retailers could be.  Most of you must know but  a  Youtuber from the United States, Crystal of Bag o Day Crochet, has introduced various yarns, so if you watch her channel, you can see yourself.  I refer to her videos when I'm planning on buying yarn.

By the way, the length is 812 yd/ 742 meters. This is  medium 4.
Even if they say medium 4, there may be a slight difference in thread thickness depending on the manufacturer.  I ran out of yarn while I was making my new project, and I needed only  about 270 yards, so I looked for another medium 4 yarn.  However, there was a slight difference in the thickness when compared.　The ones that are considered very similar to Caron One Pound are the Red Heart Super Saver and the Big Twist, but the thickness of the thread of these two is slightly thinner in my opinion.  Caron One Pound was the most solid of the same medium 4 yarns. So I ended up buying another One Pound. This is a 100% acrylic. It's not very soft or smooth, but it's affordable, so it's convenient when making a big project.

I compared its size with Japanese yarn. This is the only Japanese yarn I have, so I compared them. You can see the difference in size. American yarn is huge!

The stores I often go to, sell One Pound for around $ 7 to 8.
