■Core Curriculum
Project
Rather than memorizing what is written in the textbook, students will learn by hands-on experience in a “project-focused” learning environment. Project themes such as Agriculture, Woodworking, Cooking, Drama, and Hokkaido are available. Each student will choose one theme for the year and work together without any grade barriers.

Basic Learning
Students will take time to learn about “numbers” and “words” that are useful in their life. Instead of relying on using workbooks, students can choose subjects of interest in their life and learn by experience. We do not evaluate students by either tests or homework.

Electives
For each semester, students will learn subjects that are compulsory at the Ministry of Education such as PE, art, music, and foreign languages. We will make the activity content according to the best use of resources available in the area.

Meetings
In group discussions and weekly school-wide meetings, students and adults will thoroughly discuss various things such as school rules and events, troubles, social problems, etc. Using this method encourages students to learn the decision-making process on their own.

Built in 1969, seismic retrofitting completed Background In 2020, Kita Naganuma Elementary School was closed due to the merging of five schools in Naganuma according to the town’s placement plan, and later an agreement was signed for the use of the school building free of charge.
