Here are three Japanese daily scenes that show you how safe Japan is

It is said that Japan is a very safe country. But Japan is not a country without crime. It means less crime compared to other countries and public facilities are beautifully used there.

I will show you three Japanese daily scenes and you will understand why Japan is so safe.

1st grade kids ride home alone on the train

Riding the train in Tokyo around 3 p.m., we see elementary school students in school uniforms riding the train alone. Elementary school students go to school on foot because we have catchment areas. In Tokyo, one in 20 elementary school students study at private schools(only 2% of primary school kids go to private schools in Japan) so we have few school buses.

Some of 1st grade kids go to special schools (music school, kumon, English language school etc.) by themselves.

Garbage cans are rarely seen on the streets

In Japan, you rarely see trash cans on the streets. Most countries have trash cans on the streets to prevent littering. In Japan, it is strictly enforced that people take their garbage home with them. We believe that it is important not to produce garbage.

Japanese people look for convenience stores when they need to throw away trash. This is because there are trash bins there.

Lots of beautiful vending machines on the streets

There are automatic vending machines for beverage on the street in Japan. You will find them every 100 meters on the street in Tokyo. In Haneda airport, I found a vending machine for instant noodles.

There are different kinds of vending machines such as flowers, frozen food, eggs, accessories, coffee etc.

If you visit Japan, you will see different scenes in Japan.
