Career and Action Plan in Badminton Competition

KSLA Badminton Representative: Tetsuya Kamada

Firstly, I would like to write about the reason why I started KSLA Badminton. I have been playing badminton since high school and continue to do so. One of the biggest changes for me was when I joined a social badminton club after becoming a working adult. I had a fear of strong players because I had never experienced anything like it before. However, playing with different people made me realize that the reason for my fear was within myself. I started to think, "I can't become stronger unless I overcome this fear," and went to every place I could play badminton, regardless of skill level. I also gathered information and went to places suggested by myself. I think I became a different person from before.

Another experience that brought about changes to me was when I was invited to become a coach for a sports youth organization by someone I met at the social club. Up until then, my lifestyle was fairly laissez-faire, but the parents who sent their children to the youth organization had a completely different style, which was quite shocking. That experience led me to being involved with that organization for about 13 years, and I had the opportunity to obtain coaching qualifications. I also chose jobs that allowed me to base my life around it, and I coached players and learned the trade of coaching for a long time. I then thought, "It's impossible for me to continue this lifestyle forever. It's something that will happen to everyone." Since then, I thought about what I should do to continue this lifestyle. The answer was "badminton school." There are children who are living in the present through badminton, but when they look for future prospects, all they say is, "We can't make a living through badminton." That phrase became KSLA Badminton's purpose, and we want to create a "society where you can make a living through sports." The company that supports this, "Kamada World Presents," has made "destruction" their corporate philosophy, breaking down common sense (knowledge), past experiences, and society, all to support my goal of the "Freedom Wings 500-year plan."

There are countless choices and careers in the world, not just in badminton. To be able to choose freely, a long-term "plan" is essential. Of course, there are countless "trajectory corrections" that must be put in place. To be able to do this, I accumulated badminton experience, coaching experience, recruitment and cultivation of talent in business, marketing, and more, in that order.

Now, to get to the topic at hand, I will write about Career and Action Plans. This is just my personal opinion, so feel free to spread this around if you agree. However, I will mute any malicious comments, so please be aware of that.

  1. Approach to cultivation
Our basic approach is to eliminate mind blocks and create a fun career plan that is manageable and based on Kamada World Presents' "destruction" and KSLA Badminton's "creating a society where you can make a living through sports."

  2. Goal setting
Firstly, everyone's badminton career is different. Depending on where you start, the type and quality of goals you can set will vary. Therefore, we decide on each person's start and finish line.

The target is considered in terms of 1. Attributes, 2. Timing, and 3. Life plans.

For example:

  1. Attributes are:
Elementary school students→Junior high school students→High school students→Working adults

  2. Timing is:
    ABC qualifiers (start)
    Working adults (Olympics)

  3. Life plans are:
    Become a nurse after retirement

This makes it easier to understand and clarify what needs to be done, how much needs to be achieved at each stage, and what results they want to achieve.

  1. Attributes refer to when you start. Therefore, it is a given that you would target elementary school tournaments. By deciding on your landing point as a player, specific actions can be taken. 3. Comes after the end of an active career in badminton. The problem with Japan's sports is that this is a missing element. In other words, stakeholders and players are being consumed, which can be described as a vested interest.

I will explain the action plan based on this example in the next tweet.

Thank you for reading until the end. Please feel free to utilize this for spreading and input/output.
