ヨークシャーオークス２０２０感想

８月２０日、イギリスのヨーク競馬場で行われたヨークシャーオークス(3歳上・牝・GI・芝2370m・6頭)でラヴが前評判通り、いやそれ以上の強さを見せて完勝。勝ちタイムは２分３１秒３１。

馬場発表はGoodだがコーナー手前の９００ｍ位がGood to Soft。ラップタイムで言えばF3からF７までがやはり影響をうけているのか遅い。

メンバーは弱かった。

唯一、可能性があるとしたら前走ナッソーS（G1）でファンシーブルーの首差２着のOne Voiceだったが、６月からの１０週間で６戦目というローテは厳しかったし、血統面からも距離は不安視された。

英オークス３着のFrankly Darlingはいたが期待薄だった。そもそも今年の英オークスのラヴ以外の馬のその後の成績がパッとしない。

ヨークシャーオークスの後に行われた同距離のリステッドレースを英オークス７着のGold Wandが勝ったがタイムは２分３４秒２７とラヴのタイムよりも３秒も遅い。

他の英オークス出走馬でその後に勝ち星を上げたのは５着のPassionだけ。

そんな弱い相手だったのだが、直線で軽く促しただけで先頭に立ちムチは用意したものの使わずに完勝して格の違いを見せつけた。

エイダン・オブライエン師をしてここまで言わせるラヴ。

しかし、心配もあった。

”We were very nervous about running her in the ground because any time she got beat last year was in slower ground," said O'Brien, who revealed a conference call with owners John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith had taken place following the second race on Thursday, when Moore pointed out that by running Love at York a valuable lesson could be learned.

"The advantage of running her in that ground was we would find out if we could run her on that sort of surface in the Arc," explained O'Brien.

"Even though she handled it I would be very worried if we get stinking ground in France because she is a beautiful low-actioned filly. We now know she can get away with good to soft, but I wouldn't be sure about heavy ground."

去年の重馬場での成績と跳びの大きな走りのために柔らかい馬場では苦戦するだろうと思われていたのだ。

たった９００ｍの稍重だったが、それでもエイダン・オブライエン師は心配していた。

”stinking ground in France”とエイダン・オブライエン師も言うぐらい去年の凱旋門賞の日の馬場はひどかったのだ。

今年こそは良馬場で行われてほしいです。
