Hello, everyone! I'm Maëlle, a new member in the women's handball club of Keio University.

I am very pleased to introduce myself to you, let's begin!

Name: Maëlle Gabens
Faculty: Science and Technology
School: IMT Atlantique engineer school
Handball history: handball club for one year in 2nd grade in junior highschool, years of watching handball and now women's handball club of Keio University.

I am from France and handball is pretty popular there, so when I think about it, I always thought it was really cool.

When I was in junior highschool, I joined the handball club in my town for a year, because handball was really appealing and I loved watching the powerful shots. After I joined I really started to appreciate smooth team action and I really like the taste of victory with a team. Plus handball was an interest I shared with my dad and it was really nice to have him come encourage me for the games.

After that I played a little bit of handball in the sports association of highschool, but I stopped a long time for my studies. However, I would still sometimes have fun playing with friends between classes.

When joining Keio, I was looking at the different clubs, and I saw the picture from the women's handball club. They were awesome! So when I met them at the club presentation, I was really thrilled.

I joined the club right after in early October. Even if it's not always easy, I am really grateful for the team and coaches because they all put a lot of effort into explaining and helping me slowly and in english. So far I have had the chance to enjoy many experiences with the team, such as ‘sokeisen’ but also friendly games and lots of practice. Those made me realize the dedication of each member and how strong they are. I also feel like I improved a lot overall, which feels really nice! Plus this kind of club is different from what I knew from France, so it is really interesting to see and understand how it works. I am very glad I joined ! Thank you for reading through!

ハンドボール歴:中学2年生の1年間ハンドボール部、ハンドボール観戦歴、現在慶應義塾大学女子ハンドボール部。

私はフランス出身ですが、ハンドボールはとても人気があるので、考えてみるといつもかっこいいと思っていました。

中学生の時、私は町のハンドボール部に1年間入っていました。ハンドボールはとても魅力的で、迫力あるショットを見るのが大好きだったからです。 入団してから、スムーズなチームアクションを評価するようになり、チームでの勝利の味がとても好きになりました。 それにハンドボールは私が父と共有した興味であり、彼が試合のために私を励ましてくれて本当に良かった。

その後、高校の体育会でハンドボールを少ししましたが、勉強のために長い間やめました。 しかし、私は時々授業の合間に友達と遊ぶことを楽しみます。

慶應に入社したとき、いろいろなクラブを見ていたら、女子ハンドボール部の写真がありました。 彼らは素晴らしかった！ クラブの発表会で彼らに会ったとき、私はとても興奮しました。

私は10月初旬にクラブに入会しました。 いつも簡単なことではなくても、チームやコーチたちがゆっくりと英語で説明してくれることにとても力を入れてくれて本当に感謝しています。 これまで、私はチームとの多くの経験を楽しむ機会がありました。例えば、「早慶戦」などですが、親善試合やたくさんの練習もあります。 そのおかげで、メンバー一人一人の献身ぶりや強さが実感できました。 全体的にもだいぶ良くなった気がして、とてもいい感じです！ それに、この種のクラブは私がフランスから知っていたのとは違うので、その仕組みを見て理解するのはとても興味深い。 参加できてとてもうれしいです！最後まで読んでくれてありがとう！
